Item Description

Orlando Futurock, Lunacy b/w Future School, on Futurock 001 in strong VG to VG shape, full shine and plays superbly.
Weird, wild, and great, the A-side Lunacy is a complete blast with a terrific extended guitar solo.
The first 2:00 of it is included in the clip below, up to the point where there s a false ending.
The B-side Future School is, fittingly, a little less crazed, with more bonehead-style licks, but still an inventive bit of rock and roll weirdness.
Production was handled by John Jaszcz, who is best known for his work with Parliament-Funkadelic.
This disk is from Detroit in 1982, and it is insanely rare.
The only mention of it on the entire internet is in a short Detroit Free Press review from April of 1983.
Note that this review is my source for calling the band Orlando Futurock, but the band may actually just be called Orlando, and the label may be Futurock.
Or the other way around, it s hard to tell, though the catalog number begins with the letters FR.
I ve been hunting records in and around Detroit since before this 45 was released, and I ve never seen or heard of another copy.
