Item Description

zipedit Black Sabbath SabotageCat No 9119 001 NEMS Records Labels 19751st UK Pressing Earliest Rarest Look 2 1 Matrix Endings So Rare In this Near Mint Vinyl/Audio Condition Rarest Earliest With Hidden Track Only ever played two times ever Earliest 1st Issue Textured Cover Excellent plus Top Archive Copy Never Need To Upgrade Another from my personal collection.
This album is probably one of my favorite ever Black Sabbath albums.
This being the fifth Black Sabbath Archive UK albums that I have listed here on Ebay when they are gone they are gone This is the earliest 1st UK pressing so rare to find 1 2 matrix endings rarely seen especially in this awesome condition.
The vinyl has only ever been played by me two times ever from new and the audio is to die for absolutely stunning through out As near as perfect mint plays as new in my opinion.
So rich and vibrant it nearly shook the house down.
The original 1st issue textured cover has no splits or tears and has very minor storagewear only in the form of small or light creases to mention, noticed if looked for.
I would grade the cover better than excellent exceptional condition see photos An audio archive copy never need to upgrade Sabotage is the sixth studio album by the British heavy metal band Black Sabbath, released in July 1975.Click Play above to hear the track Hole In The Sky Actual recording from the vinyl Black Sabbath began work on their sixth album in February 1975, again in England at Morgan Studios in Willesden, London.
The title Sabotage was chosen because the band were at the time being sued by their former management and felt they were being sabotaged all the way along the line and getting punched from all sides , according to Tony Iommi.
Iommi credits those legal troubles for the album s angry, heavier sound.
Guitarist Iommi, who produced the album, said that We could ve continued and gone on and on, getting more technical, using orchestras and everything else which we didn t particularly want to.
We took a look at ourselves, and we wanted to do a rock album Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath wasn t a rock album, really.
The final part of Symptom of the Universe evolved from an in-studio jam.
It was created very spontaneously in a single day and the decision was made to use it in that song.
The London Philharmonic Choir was brought in to perform on the song Supertzar .
When vocalist Ozzy Osbourne arrived at the studio and saw them, he thought he was in the wrong studio and left.
The tour in support of Sabotage was the first in which Black Sabbath used a full-time keyboardist onstage, Gerald Jezz Woodroffe The album is a mix of heavy, powerful songs such as Hole in the Sky and Symptom of the Universe , and softer experimental songs such as Supertzar and Am I Going Insane Radio .
The title of the latter caused some confusion due to the Radio part, which led people to believe the song was a radio cut or radio version.
However, this is the only version of the song: the term radio-rental is rhyming slang for mental .
The Writ was one of only a handful of Black Sabbath songs to feature lyrics composed by vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, who typically relied on bassist Geezer Butler for lyrics.
The song was a response to the frustrations Osbourne felt at the time, as Black Sabbath s former management were suing the band after having been fired.
At one point during recording, a representative of their former management entered the studio and served the band a writ to appear in court.
During this period, the band began to question if there was any point to recording albums and touring endlessly just to pay the lawyers Side 1.

The original NEMS labels are in awesome condition These look almost as new condition in my opinion Amaizingly I find it hard to see even a spider trail, even when angled to the light and of coarse no spindle ware This has only ever been played one time only from new when I initially purchased it and one time to play grade for this listing.
You can still even see the plastic in the spindle hole So rare for an album that is 37 years old Impossible to find like this very very collectable The vinyl.
The vinyl is absolutely superbe On initial visual inspection this looks like new Near As Mint in my opinion and still retains its sheen from new please note this vinyl has only ever been played by me personally and I originally played this to record to tape only one time in the last 35 years this has been stored in a case with the vinyl seperated from the sleeve and cover to prevent ringware and damage This is how i have always stored my records, and of course I played this again to play grade at very loud volume on a top system In fact even when I look at the playing surface angled to a strong light I can t see a blemish at all.
At least there are no audio sounding marks or blemishes that I can see at all This looks almost as unplayed Any marks that could possibly be seen would be sleeve removal only but again ,I can t see any at all The Audio Quality I have played this through track for track prior to listing at very very loud volume on a top system The moment the needle hits the playing surface it is obvious this vinyl has barely ever been played at all The audio quality is as you would expect, superbe, TOP, TOP, TOP cristal clear and extreemely vibrant through out in fact this plays as a new vinyl would sound in my opinion This played through as perfect as it gets unbelievable audio seperation, that I haven t heard like this before and stunning bassey feel throughout almost cd.
quality on my systems This vinyl has been stored seperately from the cover in a poly sleeve for all of its storage life This is the way I always have stores my records The audio on this pressing in my opinion is almost as good as it gets for a very early and the 1st pressing Even in between tracks this is almost quiet This is the best audio that I have heard of this pressing I would class myself as highly critical and this is a truly exceptional sounding vinyl and the 5th EVER ALBUM RELEASED by this awesome band black sabbath and so hard to find the earliest 1st pressing like this Please check my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to near as mint through out Don t take my word for it , listen to the actual recording of this album in the player above Please note That i always make this disclaimer That although I never heard any real clicks or pops during the play of this record please allow for the odd static/ tick , certainly not consistant throughout the audio, but this is a genuine 37 year old vinyl that would have been played on a 37 year old system Points to note This has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 35 years A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves from laying dormant causes static crackle ticks A constant clean before each play is recomended This would reduce any static and enhance the audio quality The Record SleeveThis is a poly lined sleeve with no splits or tares.
Light creasing minor staining/fading with age only in general nice and clean The CoverThis is the original and earliest 1st UK press Robert Stace printed an textured cover These early originals are very flimsy in nature and hard to keep in nice condition.
This is straight in appearance see photos with minor or minimal surface creases to mention near spine on the front and some light creasing noticed at the rear to mention near the spine, only really noticed if looked for in my opinion See Photos .
Any rubbing wear is slight but again only noticed if looked for in my opinion.
All writing can be seen at the spine very slight crushing at the spine to mention only.
Truly remarkable for 37 years old JUST TRY TO FIND A BETTER ORIGINAL 1st issue I would grade the cover better than excellent No splits or tears.HOW I SEND MY RECORDS THIS ALBUM WILL BE SENT IN A LARGE BOX WITH CARDBOARD STIFFENERS THE ALBUM IS ALWAYS PUT IS A POLY SLEEVE AND ENCASED IN THE BOX WITH PLENTY OF BUBBLE WRAP FOR ADDED PROTECTION SEE PHOTOS As always I have tried to give my honest personal opinion when describing items listed Although it is my honest opinion I always urge others to do their own personal research on any items that they are interested in purchasing, before, they commit to bidding I have Highlighted all aspects as clearly as possible I have taken time to play this vinyl track for track to give a clear and accurate description of the audio quality.
