Item Description

On offer here is a VERY rare LP especially in this condition by The Beatles called Let It Be BOX SET and is an ORIGINAL 1970 UK 1st pressing on the 1st Press Apple label THIS BOX SET IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST BEATLES ITEMS EVER - AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE BACK IN 1970 WHEN THIS BOX SET WAS FIRST RELEASED - IT ONLY EVER SOLD IN VERY SMALL AMOUNTS AS A BOX SET AND WAS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY CHANGED AS A RESULT, IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND NOW NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS INCREDIBLE BOX SET IS 100 COMPLETE IN EVERY WAY - WITH A 1ST PRESS RED APPLE LOGO ON THE COVER BACK OF THE LP, A 1ST PRESS PATENTS WHITE INNER SLEEVE, 1ST PRESS BLACK CARD UNDER TRAY, 1ST PRESS BOOK HOLDER NOT A REPLACEMENT , 1ST PRESS PATENTS PENDING OUTER LAMINATED GARROD LOFTHOUSE COVER, AND 1ST PRESS GET BACK BOOK HOUSED IN A BLACK CARD TRAY THE MATRIXES ARE THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE 1ST PRESS MATRIXES - BEING 773-2U YEX 774-2U LATER ONES WERE HIGHER SO THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT AT ALL - THAT THIS IS THE EARLIEST RAREST 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE POSTER MYTH Most Beatles Collectors already know this - so for them, this part will be a little bit tedious.
But for those who dont know - it is important to note, that the Apple Advertising Poster was never designed for this Box Set AT ALL - and most Box Sets never EVER had it from Day One.
In fact, when you look at the poster it is fairly obvious - mainly because the last Apple LP featured on it was John Lennon s Live Peace in Toronto , which had actually been released 6 months prior to the Let It Be Box Set being released And this is also why this Apple Poster is most commonly found in late 1969 One Box Beatles re-issues, or late 1969, early 1970 Apple releases.
Unfortunately most of these, are often swopped and put into Box Sets to increase the saleablity.
Of course, the proof that this Poster was actually first made in December 1969 is the posters shape One side is actually shorter than the other, because at the time this poster was made - only 15 LPs were available on the Apple label And of course, had others been available at that time - then the poster could easily have been made Double Sided in equal parts.
Badfinger s Magic Christian Music was released in January 1969 5 months prior to the Let It Be release date , and also Ringo Starrs Sentimental Journey was released in March 1969 2 months before Let It Be - neither of which were included on this Apple Poster.
So it is very clear that this poster was produced in large numbers from December 1969 - and simply designed to go into multiple Apple Beatles LPs of the period to promote the Beatles Apple label Personally I have most commonly found this poster in one box Parlophone late 1969/early 1970 Beatles releases on Parlophone.
So most likely a lot of these Apple Posters were put inside Beatles LPs for Christmas 1969 as a sales push.
Of course, that is certainly not to say that these posters didnt appear in 1st Pressings of Let It Be as they most certainly did But they were no more common to find inside this Box Set - than any other Beatles release/re-issue of the period, and certainly were never designed for this Box Set.
Most day of release Box Sets never had this poster at all - but obviously over the years, with many being swopped from other LPs - a great many more have appeared That said - it is obviously a nice thing to have with this set, and so I have included a re-production copy with this Set for any winning bidder to enjoy IT IS ALSO WORTH SAYING ESPECIALLY WITH THE AMOUNT OF FAKES AROUND - THAT EVERY SINGLE PART OF THIS BOX SET IS GUARANTEED 100 GENIUNE 1ST PRESS ITEMS - AND HAVE BEEN TOGETHER SINCE THE DAY IT WAS BOUGHT.
THIS BOX SET, IS MADE EXTRA DESIRABLE AS IT HAS THE RAREST TYPE OF 1ST PRESS UNDERTRAY PLEASE READ ON BELOW WHICH UNLIKE THE STANDARD VERSION HAS NEVER BEEN FAKED I HAVE FULL HISTORY WITH THIS BOX SET.
IT WAS BOUGHT ON THE SECOND DAY OF RELEASE BY ITS 1 PREVIOUS OWNER IN 1970, AND THE BOX REMAINED UNTOUCHED FOR 48 YEARS, UNTIL I ACQUIRED IT LAST WEEK PLEASE READ ON ABOUT THIS VERY IMPORTANT DETAIL BELOW THIS BOX SET IN UNDOUBTEDLY THE VERY BEST CONDITIONED 1ST PRESS BOX SET I HAVE EVER FOUND I KNOW I WILL NEVER SEE ANOTHER ONE LIKE IT ANY TIME SOON - AND PROBABLY NEVER IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO READ EVERY PART OF THIS DESCRIPTION BELOW - AND STUDY THE PICTURES CLOSELY JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1970 UK EARLIEST 1ST PRESSING ON THE EARLIEST 1ST PRESS DARK APPLE LABEL, EARLIEST 1ST PRESS 2U/2U MATRIX ENDINGS, EARLIEST 1ST PRESS PATENTS INNER SLEEVE, EARLIEST 1ST PRESS UNDER TRAY , EARLIEST 1ST PRESS BOOK HOLDER TRAY , 1ST PRESS FULLY LAMINATED RED APPLE LP COVER, 1ST PRESS GET BACK BOOK, AND EARLIEST 1ST PRESS GARROD LOFTHOUSE FULLY LAMINATED PATENTS PENDING OUTER BOX THIS AMAZING BOX SET IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY This Box Set as mentioned above is 100 COMPLETE with the laminated outer casing, the black card under tray, the black card book holder, the Get Back Book and the Let It Be Red apple 1st Press LP The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl.
The Cat.
No.
for the Box Set package is PXS 1 and the Cat.
No on the record is PCS 7096 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Dark Apple label see picture and is a STEREO 1st pressing there were NO Monos All the tracks are Pure quality Beatles at their best Any fan of The Beatles, or 60s music in general, will want to have this in their collection I will now describe the Box Set in GREAT detail - to be EXTREMELY clear on how STUNNING this Box Set really is In order below:- THE 1 PREVIOUS OWNER and his great care of this Box Set The 1 previous owner told me, he thought the box set was absolutely pointless his words - not mine , but as he wanted the latest Beatles LP he bought it anyway On the day he bought it, he took out the LP and filed it away in his record rack.
He took the book after a two second read - according to him and put it in his bookcase.
He said he nearly threw away the box like so many others but instead he put on top of a cupboard.
Luckily the previous owner NEVER MOVED HOUSE and the box sat on his cupboard top UNTOUCHED for an incredible 48 years, until I acquired it last week.
Without this 1 previous owners strange way of doing things, there is NO WAY it would have survived in this condition today The Box has essentially remained UNTOUCHED since 1970 THE 1ST PRESS GARROD LOFTHOUSE LAMINATED PATENTS PENDING OUTER CASE The ORIGINAL 1st Press Patents Pending FULLY Laminated Outer Case is in absolutely STUNNING condition It retains a SUPERB shape to it - with ALL SIDES being flat vertical and a STUNNING box shape There is NO crushing and NO flattening either It also has NO laminate lifting AT ALL, NO rips, NO tears, VERY shiny laminate, NO splits, a darkening trace on 1 opening edge, NO indentations, barely ANY corner wear AT ALL SUPERB shape to ALL corners , a MEGA thin laminate lifting line along the VERY top edge clearly from manufacture , NO annotations, and the opening edges are beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL Which is also nice about this Outer Case is the almost complete lack of creasing Usually this Outer Case is covered in half moon creases from people trying to access the box.
NOT ON THIS ONE This Outer Case has only 2 MEGA light crease traces on the bottom these do NOT affect the shape, are VERY hard to notice, and are probably from delivery anyway and apart from this - it is completely UNCREASED A truly STUNNING Laminated Outer Case and must grade Excellent if not better A SUPERB OUTER CASE THE 1ST PRESS CARDBOARD FOLD OVER UNDER TRAY This cardboard under tray is possibly the MOST SOUGHT 1st Press version of this Box Set, as it is the far FAR rarer type with curved flaps Far less of these were made than the standard shape, and it is EXTREMELY sought after - as whilst the standard shaped tray has been widely faked, this one NEVER has been So you are absolutely GUARANTEED it is 100 GENIUNE from the very day of release And like the other parts of this Box Set it is in absolutely STUNNING condition Incredibly - thanks to the 1 previous owner - it is incredibly UNCREASED with STUNNING straight edges It retains a PERFECT shape, and has barely ANY rubbing AT ALL virtually NONE , as it has only ever been removed 2 or 3 times since it was made It has barely ANY corner wear AT ALL virtually ZERO , NO splits, and NO rips, and NO tears It must EASILY grade EX towards NM AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING CARDBOARD UNDER TRAY, OF THE RAREST 1ST PRESSI TYPE, AND 100 GENIUNE IN EVERY WAY THE 1ST PRESS BOOK TRAY So often faked, this is the most fragile part of this box set But as you can clearly see from my pictures - this one is 100 GENIUNE in every way Again thanks to the 1 previous owner - it has remained in MINT condition In fact, I really do not need to describe it I have never seen one in such AMAZING condition before - and I strongly doubt that I ever will again No creases, NO splits, NO damage, NO repairs, NO nothing I never thought I would EVER say this about a Let It Be Book Tray - but I have NO hesitation in grading it MINT Minus WHAT A TRULY AMAZING ITEM THE 1ST PRESS GET BACK BOOK The Book sat in the 1 previous owners bookcase since 1970.
He said he does not remember ever reading it.
Like the rest of the Box Set it remains in STUNNING condition - with NO dog earring, NO loose pages, and VERY nice straight edges It is also the MUCH rarer Book type with an All-Black first page most were white instead The Book must grade Excellent if not better A STUNNING BOOK - AND EXTREMELY WELL KEPT THE 1ST PRESS RED APPLE LP NARROW SPINE COVER Unlike the rest of the Box Set, the LP itself sat in the 1 previous owners record collection not in the Box - which remained UNTOUCHED and was accessed and played occasionally.
However, even this was EXTREMELY well cared for, with NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, barely ANY corner wear AT ALL, barely ANY creases AT ALL cover is VERY flat looking indeed , NO annotations, NO annotations, and NO writing Despite the lack of creasing, and lack of corner wear, inevitably from sitting in a record rack, the laminate whilst still shiny , does have the usual record laminate impression under light.
The opening edge is beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL Even the laminated Red Apple back is in BRILLIANT condition with NO writing, NO grubbyness, and NO yellowing And though many people may be tempted to call this cover Excellent, I am more than happy to grade it Very Good if not better to be careful A VERY NICE LP COVER INDEED THE 1ST PRESS PLAIN WHITE PATENTS BLACK TEXT INNER SLEEVE A superb example and must grade Excellent THE 1ST PRESS 2U/2U DARK APPLE LABEL RECORD The record labels are in SUPERB condition see pictures with NO wear, NO writing, and only a few VERY light spindle marks Clearly not played excessively I estimate between 5 and 10 plays here.
The vinyl is in absolutely BRILLIANT condition Most of these 60s/70s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable.
This one is NOT and has NO scratches, only 2 or 3 MEGA light hairlines, NO scufflines, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL JUST PRESSED LOOK AND LOOKS SUPERB It is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, barely ANY crackle AT ALL, and only some VERY low level background sound on the run on grooves gaps - NOT in the music AT ALL The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO groovewear, and NO distortion either The record must MEGA STRICTLY grade Very Good if not better - and is very VERY close to a grade above SUPERB RECORD THIS IS BY SOME DISTANCE THE VERY BEST CONDITIONED 1ST PRESS LET IT BE BOX SET I HAVE EVER FOUND AND CHANCES OF EVER FINDING ANOTHER ONE LIKE AGAIN, ARE VIRTUALLY ZERO THIS BOX SET IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I DO MY BEST TO SHOW THE RECORD FROM ALL ANGLES AND MAKE THE PICTURES AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE - THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE It really is a GREAT looking Box Set and it is truly rare to find any copies of this RARE Beatles LP THIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO BUY AN ORIGINAL 1970 UK RED APPLE 1ST PRESSING OF LET IT BE BOX SET BY THE BEATLES, IN AWESOME CONDITION Dont forget to take a look at all my other items including many other TOP LPs and contact me with any queries you may have.
