Item Description

The Beatles Please Please Me/Ask Me Why This is a US vinyl single from 1963 on Vee Jay 498.
This was their first US single.
It was released in 1963, before they were famous.
It has the second label variation with The Beatles spelled correctly.
This version has the black label with colorband, the oval VJ logo, and the wide style silver printing.
It is a Monarch pressing.
This is VJ 498.05 in Bruce Spizers book.
It comes in it s original company sleeve.
The matrix numbers are : side one : machine stamped audio matrix and MR in a circle.
Then hand etched : 63-2967 triangle 46527.
And side two : machine stamped audio matrix and MR in a circle.
Then hand etched : 63-2968 triangle 46527-X.
Condition : Company sleeve : VG / Record : VG The vinyl looks VG and it plays VG .
There are no scratches, but there are a couple light handling marks on side one.
Both sides play great with no pops, no static, no crackling, and no skips.
The labels have light ring wear and there is a tiny name on side one in the yellow part of the colorband.
The company sleeve is VG.
There is no writing or seam splits, but it has bent corners and light wrinkles.

I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby.
And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon.
My records are from a no smoking and no pets home.
Packaging : I take great care during packaging and do each one personally.
I use hand cut cardboard, which I get from a trucking company.
It s so thick that you will save it and use it again.
Each piece is 1/2 inch thick and together they are very stronge.
I always remove the record from the picture sleeve and tape them inside a clear plastic record sleeve.
All packages are marked in red : Fragile Record on both sides.
Postage : You have to pay for the postage.
So, I pre-weigh each package and you pay the exact amount the post office charges.
There are no handling charges.
This record will weigh 6 ounces when ready to ship.
US winners can figure out your own postage costs for US First Class or Media Mail.
I will send it through Paypal and you will get an email with the tracking number.
Overseas winners will get it sent by First Class Mail International.
Buyers from Brazil will assume all risks for shipping to your country.
