Item Description

Great original private press Christian Psych/Rock LP from White Light. It came in 1974 on Scotia Records out of England. As Ken Scott reviews it "Scotland seemed to be the breeding ground for some of the most daring and groundbreaking Christian bands. Groups like the Gospelfolk, Living Stones, and Caedmon. Well, add the male four piece White Light to the big kahuna list with this super scarce high powered bluesy garage/psych hard rock beast, packed to the gills with cheesy organ, jubilant fuzz guitar, and frenzied drumming. The entire side 1 is taken up with a classic Who-like conceptual piece entitled 'Prodigal', a rock opera embracing the parable of the prodigal son in a modern context. Side 2 works in covers of John Mayall's 'Where Do I Belong' and George Harrison's 'Awaiting On You All', along with a couple of originals 'Now I Realise' and another boogie blues track 'Mighty Big God'. The organ is traded in for piano on the final track, a jammin' cover of Edwin Hawkin's 'In My Father's House. All this bursts forth with a very homemade yet endearing sound that echoes that of the Vindication album. File proudly with the best of the monsters." The songs are: Prodigal, Mighty Big God, Where Did I Belong, Awaiting On You All, Now I Realise, In My Father's House. The vinyl is M-, and cover and insert are in EX condition. Winner pays $4.00 postage in the US. I ship worldwide. I take Paypal for payment.
