Here is an original second pressing of Sun Ra s Secrets Of The Sun lp. Recorded in 1961/62, the first vinyl pressing of this music was made in 1965 and the second pressing in 1967. The monochrome version of the sleeve presented here is from 1974.
The vinyl is in Ex condition. The sound is clear and vibrant throughout and the record plays without skips or distortion. That said, this being a 54 year old Saturn pressing means there are the inevitable occasional soft pops. Crackle is audible in very quiet moments and between tracks but overall nothing that majorly distracts from the music.
The sleeve is in Ex condition. The seams are all firm and split free. There is very moderate wear and a small bump on the lower right corner. The ring wear that appears is not actually on this sleeve but rather was present on the original sixties purple sleeve that I imagine this black and white version was copied from.
Any copy of Secrets Of The Sun is a super rare wonder to behold and this rare 60 s/70 s hybrid version is in really nice condition that offers deep, exploratory and mystic sounds.
