Item Description

One of the more bizarre articulated Vertigo non-laminated sleeves which is best described as a centre section with top loading for the vinyl accompanied by side wings with attached folding rear flaps Unless the sleeve is sealed from new or else arrived via a time machine then it is never going to be mint. Imagine handlers over the years attempting to impatiently unfold the thing thinking the vinyl was inside then tears and creases will occur as a result of opening wrongly . Also the front wings were sure to catch on something typically a polythene cover when inserting and the flaps are a liability in the practical sense. This is one such example and I acquired it years ago in this condition.

The photos show the story. There is no titled spine on the sleeve. The corners are square albeit worn. No writing or defacements, is clean but with the aforementioned creases and tears, mainly on the wings but also a small tear on the card on the rear centre, 3/4 down from top . You can see I ve put some invisible ? tape on the tears to stop the card ripping further. I was going to leave it but the need for protection won out. So, this sleeve which is one of the iconic Vertigo issues is intact but bandaged. My subjective rating for its condition is 6.5 /10.

Onto the vinyl which is shiny, flat with no dishing. On the run-off grooves adjacent to the clean labels, side A machine etched matrix no. is 6360009 1Y // 1 followed by 1 1 ? small to read and side B matrix no. is 6360009 2Y // 1 with 1 1 1 further along the runoff. The spindle hole is tight with evidence of a handful of spins. Angling under a searching light I see no needle marks. Typically for previous listings I cite the usual suspects of some paper or otherwise scuff and handling marks. This particular example has those and so I give it a rating of EXC- or 7/10 minimum.

The Vertigo polythene lined inner bag is in untorn shape but shows age and glue browning top and bottom.

As ever, no reserve and auction will run to the end. Thanks.
