Good CD for a dated TV show, finally on CD
Believe it or not, this song was played on the radio in my local market all the way up until 2005 when our local lite station finally burned out. There were cartridge tapes and some compilation and promotional CDs, but this was really never put out on CD. Often confused with James Taylor, this Joey Scarbury song written by Mike Post has long outlived the associated TV show. They tried for 3 seasons, and it just didn't go. I don't remember much of the program, but did like the theme song. Yes, it is a disc of that forgotten style of music called soft rock, what we won't admit we liked and listened to in the 1980's. So, I found a record of it in a local record shop, and decided to see if I could find a CD of it. The CD sounds really good considering that this ... The CD sounds really good considering that this was probably one of those master tapes from the early 80's that was subject to sticky-shed problems. They did a good job with the CD. It sounds identical to the record and is not dynamically compressed or processed. The record itself ma y be a second generation master or digital copy to begin with, as both have the exact same anomolies, a little tape shed fade. The album was really not mass produced and was put out on 45RPM mainly. The original album has a 5E number indicating that it is a promo, and there was no standard number assigned to it. Anyway this is a good collectable, and will help fill this missing track on many of your early 80's top 40 charts. Good price, they aren't gouging me like those $100 japanese discs.
