Item Description

Recorded in one single night for DECCA back in 1970 in a little studio on Denmark Street in London s West End, this monster mega-rarity LP is described by Record Collector magazine as one of the ultimate albums for the serious collector -- and has been listed as number three in their Top 10 must own albums.
Think progressive blues, soul, jazz, funk, country, world, acoustic and electric guitars all mixed into an overall rootsy stew.
The vinyl itself is in near mint archive condition.
The record lies flat with no warping.
I ve listened to both sides of the record -- it plays smooth and sounds just great.
The labels are free from any writing, stickers or defects -- NM.
The front cover/jacket has some very minor production creases in the front cover laminate seen when held at an angle to the light .
The back cover has some rubbing as shown and the spine is neat and tidy without scuffs -- overall rating EX-.
The LP has been kept within a plain white poly-lined audiophile sleeve -- and the original sleeve also poly-lined with a little light foxing on both sides is also enclosed.
The LP has the earliest original first pressing numbers etched/stamped on the run out grooves.
Side 1: XZAL-9879-P-2W and Side 2: XZAL-9880-P-2W.
The photos shown are of the actual item which will ship from New York, USA.
This is what the original owner says: I have asked my good friend Todd Evans to help me find this album a new owner as he is much more conversant with eBay than I.
This record has been in my collection since 1970 when I bought it in London.
It was not generally available on the shelf in most record stores and was therefore a special order item.
I met Mel Buckley, who later became the lead guitarist in Someone s Band, in 1963 and spent many an hour with him and another friend out clubbing .
Mel was quite an accomplished guitarist and even spent a season playing in a band in Lourenco Marques, Mozambique during those early years.
I originally bought this album because of that friendship, although I was never too keen on its content.
As a result, this record has been played no more than five times and, whereas other albums have left my collection, I have kept Someones Band as a memento of those clubbing days with friends -- when London was full of live music and artists whose skills have become legendary.
Now, after 43 years, it seems fitting that this album, which by all accounts has become very desirable, should find a new home.
July 2013, London.
Just as an aside, last year Mel posted this cut from one of his copies of the LP on youtube: PLEASE READ THE IMPORTANT BUYING/SELLING/SHIPPING INFORMATION BELOW: INTRODUCTION Hi my name is Todd, owner of Evans Fine Art Collectibles -- welcome to my About Me page.
I ve been an eBayer for twelve years now.
Upon leaving British Airways after 22 years of fun, excitement and corporate follies, I fell into eBay pretty much by accident.
It s probably a familiar story.
I started out selling the odd item here and there -- and soon realized that I was spending a fair amount of my time on eBay-related work.
I quickly discovered that the overwhelming majority of people who make up the eBay community, buyers and sellers, are genuine, honest folks.
And over the years, I ve made several very good friends as a result of what were initially, straightforward eBay transactions.
On eBay, as well as off, I take pride in my core values of honesty, integrity and respect so please be confident that you ll be happy with your purchase.
My specialty areas cover a wide range of items -- but include fine art, design items, musical instruments, pedals/electronics, books/magazines, ephemera, records, jewelry/pocket watches, aviation, restaurant/hotel, tobacciana, bottles, coins/stamps, Elvis memorabilia pretty much all types of collectibles.
For additional high-quality items that I may also be auctioning, please have a quick look at my other listings.
Don t hesitate to email me any questions you may have about an item however -- for shipping quotes -- see Shipping Handling below .
MY GUARANTEE If for some reason you are not satisfied with an item, please email me.
I guarantee the authenticity and accurate description of every item I list on eBay.
All of my items are guaranteed to be as described or a full refund less shipping/insurance is offered.
I also offer a 3 day approval period for musical instruments.
After I receive the insured instrument back in the same condition as it was when it was shipped to you, I will refund your full purchase price less shipping and insurance costs.
Also refer to eBay s Buyer Protection Policy here: And PayPal s Buyer Protection Policy here: solutionId163499tsolutionTabbnro MY LISTING DESCRIPTION APPROACH I sell only high-quality fine art, design items, musical instruments, electronics and collectibles so please have every confidence in bidding upon my auctions.
I am always fair and forthright with my descriptions and condition reports.
I will provide you with the same comprehensive description of the item, with full disclosure, as I would like to receive when I buy on eBay.
I will almost always present you with a dozen of the highest quality super-sized pictures possible -- so that you can properly evaluate the item and bid knowing that there will be no surprises when your item arrives.
My goal is to alleviate buyer concern with not being able to examine the item in person.
This is better for both of us -- you re a more confident bidder seeing full detail -- and I m a satisfied seller knowing that I ve shown it.
My comprehensive item descriptions and photos are time consuming for me -- but I believe that you can never really give too much information about an item.
My attention to detail not only helps you to better assess and appreciate an item, but it should prove to be informative and add perspective while helping to put the item within context.
I regard every item that I sell as something which will bring some type of emotional or financial joy to the purchaser.
Please have a look at my eBay feedback as both a seller and a buyer -- and bid with confidence that you will be satisfied with your purchase in fact, you will almost always be more than satisfied with your purchase .
Please refer to my PayPal reputation numbers for further bidding confidence.
I have also been ID Verified through eBay by Equifax.
PAYMENT THROUGH PAYPAL ONLY Before sending your payment through PayPal, please be aware that I only ship to PayPal Confirmed Addresses.
Winning bidders must pay for their item within 3 days or the item will be relisted, and negative feedback posted.
Both Domestic USA and International Buyers must use PayPal only.
If you have initially been overcharged on my estimated shipping charges, I always refund back to you the difference versus actual via PayPal.
BIDDING FEEDBACK If you have less than 5 feedbacks and/or less than a 90 positive feedback score, you must contact me before bidding -- or I reserve the right to cancel your bid.
Please do not bid if you do not intend to pay -- I report all nonpaying bidders to eBay.
Because of rampant fraud, I do not accept bidders from Russia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Nigeria.
I will immediately leave positive feedback after your payment has been verified and cleared with banks and PayPal.
If you are satisfied with your purchase, please then complete our mutual transaction by leaving feedback for me shortly after receipt of your item.
Please don t ask me to end auctions early.
I let all listings run their course.
It is unfair to those buyers who intend to bid at some point but just haven t bid yet.

I can only supply an exact shipping quote once the item is packed and I have the precise weight and dimensions.

LASTLY -- A FEW WORDS ABOUT SNIPING If you ve made it this far, don t give up now this may be the best part One last thing and I can t emphasize this enough.
Ever wonder how you lost an item by just a few dollars to a bidder in the closing seconds of an auction ? If you really do want this item, don t let yourself get sniped during the last few minutes/seconds of the auction.
It s true that many buyers sit in anticipation at their PC, waiting to submit their bid over the last few seconds before an auction closes but that s not your biggest threat.
Your biggest threats are the many web sites that bid automatically for buyers -- and literally within the last few seconds of the auction.
The buyer doesn t even have to be online he or she can be asleep.
I guarantee you -- these software programs and bidder subscription services will pull the rug out from under you during those very last seconds it happens time and time again and I receive emails about it -- time and time again directly from the sniping web sites asking me to make arrangements on behalf of the winning bidders -- as well as from those bidders who were outbid asking things like, Do you have any more like it ? .
The bottom line is this.
If you wait too long to bid, you will probably end up losing the item you want by only a few dollars.
This can happen for several reasons.
If there are a high number of watchers snipers for a given item, the usual last minute bidding activity generates high incoming traffic which is difficult to compete with during the waning seconds of auction close.
Many bids will simply not even get registered or you won t even get a chance to counter-bid.
Many of these software programs and bidder subscription services have web servers located only several miles away from eBay s computers yes, in this case distance does matter.
All I m left to say is don t be disappointed by letting this happen to you.
What many people don t realize is that eBay s proxy bidding feature can beat these snipers at their own game.
Simply enter the highest price you re willing to pay for the item early in the bidding process, and then let eBay bid for you only when required -- automatically.
If you tell eBay that the maximum amount you ll pay for an item is 100, and the auction ends at 50 then you ll pay 50 and you ll win the item.
If someone bids 95, eBay will then automatically bid your maximum 100 but will not bid above that.
It s a pretty clever function eBay offers you -- and one that some folks don t understand.
All right then -- thanks for making it through all of this and for your interest in my items.
I hope that you find what you re looking for on eBay and at the value for your money, fair market value, good deal price that you ve bid
