This is a genuine '3rd state'/peeled MONO example of The Beatles' infamous 'Butcher Cover'.
The rear panel bears a small number '3' indicating manufacture at Capitol's Scranton factory.
The disc is on the rainbow Capitol label (T-2553) with matrices: T-1-2553-F-21 & T-2-2553-B-14
A '*' star symbol is present in both run-outs, indicating that the disc was pressed at Capitol's LA factory.
Disc weight: 159g
Complete with original and correct Capitol advertising inner-sleeve.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
The front panel has undergone a very fine peel-job, but I will let the images tell the full story.
The rear panel is clean overall with slight toning, but no other blemishes or wear.
There is light bruising to the lower and upper corners left visible from the back, but both opening edges are undamaged.
All seams are intact and unsplit with just very slight cracking to the paper on the upper right corner seam.
The upper spine text is clean & undamaged with just wear to the final number '3' of T 2553' in the lower set.
Disc: VERY GOOD
Both playing surfaces are clean & glossy with the only noticeable mark being a light turntable scuff on side 2. However, close examination reveals small (less then 5mm) feelable scratches on tracks 1, 2 & 3 on side 1 and one on track 4 on side 2. There scratches caused a couple of jumps on 'Drive My Car' and 'I'm Only Sleeping' but this fault may present differently on another system.
Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD +
Clean with bright with minimal storage bends. There is minor upper edge wear and 6-9cm seam splits.
