Item Description
Up for bid is an original mono, deep groove pressing of a legendary recording from Hank Mobley on the Blue Note Records label, cataloged BLP 1568.  Also featured on this recording are Bill Hardman, Curtis Porter, Sonny Clark, Paul Chambers, and Art Taylor.  This is one of the rarest Blue Note LPs and the copy for your consideration is in remarkable NM- condition.  Featured are the Blue Note microgroove labels with the "47 West 63rd  NYC" address.  Also featured are Rudy Van Gelder's "RVG" and ear insignia etchings in the dead wax on both sides.  Additional etching on Side 1 is "BN-LP-1568-A" and on Side 2 is "BN-LP-1568-B.   This is a very hard to find original pressing in incomparable condition.

Both sides of the LP remain in beautiful NM- condition and show only very slight, barely noticeable signs of being handled.  Playback is crisp and clean and does the remarkable recording justice.  Visual and play grade are solidly NM-.  The beautiful condition of this record really cannot be understated.  The jacket is also in nice condition.  All four corners remain sharp and there are only very light signs of wear.  The jacket matches the vinyl quite nicely and makes for an amazing example of this rare Blue Note recording.

Due to the rarity and amazing condition of this item, I will be setting a reserve price on the auction.  Please feel free to message me if you have a Buy It Now offer.

Bid with confidence.  All items are securely and carefully packaged in cardboard record mailers with stiffeners to ensure safe arrival.  All records are shipped in sleeves outside of the jacket to ensure a safe journey.  Items are shipped promptly, typically the following business day from completed payment.  Thank you for considering this auction.

Just to clarify something, the address on the label of Side 1 reads "47 West 63rd NYC" and on the label of Side 2 reads "47 West 63rd New York 23."  This is an original first pressing of this album.

Another clarification needed as brought to my attention, there is NO encircled "R," signifying registration mark, under the words Blue Note on either side of the label. Again, this indicates that this is an original pressing of the LP.

In an effort to be as thorough with the listing as possible, I have added a picture of the label on Side 2, indicating the address printing as well as the absent registration mark.  Thank you again for considering this auction.
