Item Description

This band was from Stuttgart and managed just two studio albums before splitting.
Their guitarist leader Conny Veit will be known latter as collaborator of both POPOL VUH and GURU GURU, but this is another story.
Their first highly ambitious album - and one of the more important albums to come out of Western Germany - had a very odd concept to reflect the group s progression from aggression to communication.
Quite a bloody program and I can assure you that they succeed quite well.
The music on their debut runs continuously through the tracks is very trippy and atmospheric but not space rock either, In that regard , one thinks of PINK FLOYD.
In spite of their short discography, GILA is a very important group in the history of Krautrock and highly recommended to anyone looking for adventurous music.

REAL SUPERB CONDITION , PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUESTION THANKS SEE PICTURES FOR TRACKLIST Often referred by the title Free Electric Sound, Gila s debut is an amazing work, full of acid guitar freakouts, spacy organ and mellotron, exotic rhythm structures, and loads of electronic effects to fully realize the psychedelic visions.
From the Floyd-ian space rock of the first two tracks the record moves into even stranger realms on the four segued pieces that make up the second side of the original vinyl.
Kollaps starts off with ritualistic drumming, a creepy organ riff, a crying baby, and guitar licks that threaten to explode at any moment.
After some electronic effects Kontakt goes in an entirely different direction with airy acoustic guitar and keyboards and no rhythm section, like suddenly emerging into sunlight after the darkness of Kollaps.
As the track progresses seamlessly into Kollektivivtat and then Individualitat it again picks up momentum, adding electric guitar riffs and an interesting mixture of bongos and snares as the organ cuts loose, until finally everything dies except the thundering percussions on some quasi-ethnic workout with some electronic sounds thrown in.
THANKS TO SOLID BOY MUSIC BLOG 5 stars Recorded in Cologne in 1971 this was the debut progressive krautrock monster.
A Krautrock classic and festifav in this household offering everything you could ask for in an album drifty, blasting psychedelic rock with electronic effects, acid guitars, acoustic guitars, tabla and Eastern music influences.
This flowing, conceptual masterpiece blends a wide array of musical tones and moods sounding very reminiscent of a clash of classic ASH RA TEMPEL, AGITATION FREE and PINK FLOYD Ummagumma / Meddle era .
For the POPOL VUH lovers out there you will pleased to see this album features Conny Veit guitars, voice, table, electronic effects .
In addition GILA blow you lips off with additional instruments including the mellotron, organ, mandolin and bongos.
This may be my personal most beloved German krautrock album of all time.
Highly regarded album and an essential one for your collection.
