Item Description

This is the rare original deep-groove RVG-etched "P" pressing of Sonny Rollins on the Lexington Avenue (no "INC") labels of Blue Note BLP 1542. The flat-rim playing surface is in near-new condition; perhaps played once or twice. The original non-laminated frame cover has the West 63rd Street address (original covers for BLP 1542 were never printed with a Lexington Avenue address) and the upright image of Rollins: some superficial flaking along spine; wear along bottom seam and 1" split at the opening; discoloration and two tears - ½" and ¾" - at center of right edge of back slick; slight shelf wear overall.
