Depeche Mode - Music For The Masses Withdrawn Sleeve Vinyl STUMM47 Mega Rare
This version of the Depeche Mode album Music For The Masses is probably now one of the most sought after catalogue releases.
The mega-rare format comes in a full colour alternative sleeve with a mid-price sticker applied top right and the black vinyl is housed in a plain white inner bag.
Made in England and pressed by MPO.
The sleeve was withdrawn or rejected and only a few copies still exist. There are a number of stories circulating regarding the origin of the sleeve and as I don t know which is true so I ve listed them both below:
Discogs.com: A newly designed budget release series of the original albums was planned in the 90 s. Word has it that 135 copies were printed up of Music For The Masses . As the project was scrapped, all copies excluding 12 were destroyed. Those 12 copies were accidentally shipped to distributors. Record stores were simply told that these new pressings were from the upcoming budget line vinyl reissues. The stores, at the time, had no idea that the copies they received were very rare items.
E-Bay Listing: This is the original artwork that was approved by the band and therefore manufactured, then immediately rejected by the band and never used. The original covers should all have been destroyed and lost for ever but a handful survived and were used by mistake in the 2000 s. Most of them got recalled and destroyed but a handful escaped to the overseas market.
Condition:
The vinyl is brand new and has never been played. The outer sleeve is in excellent condition but does has a small stain or grease mark towards the bottom right hand corner on the front which is also visible bottom left on the back. There is also a small dink on the front of the sleeve see photos .

This item will be sent in very secure packaging to give maximum protection in transit. The vinyl will be removed from the sleeve to avoid the sleeve splitting.
