SWELL MAPS / CULT FIGURES: Let's Build A Car / I Remember
(NO LABEL) UK 1979 - 1980 7" ORIGINAL DOUBLE SIDED ACETATE WITH SMALL 'SWELL MAPS' STICKER AND A HANDWRITTEN MESSAGE FROM NIKKI SUDDEN "the smallest shoe in the world"
A super rare original and strange double sided acetate which has Swell Maps on one side and Cult Figures on the other side, comes from late 1979 or early 1980 (as the actual singles were released in early 1980, Let's Bulid a Car RT036 was also dated 1979 - see Mario Panciera's excellent 45 Revolutions book for more details on bands and releases). I'm not even sure if the versions on the acetate where finally used for the actual releases or they are different cuts. This unique rarity comes from Kevin Godfrey (Epic Sountracks) who sold it to me in the mid '80s together with other nice Swell Maps and related items, so it's definitely genuine (I have his letters if somone needs certification) - Nikki's message was added later on the sticker when I presented the acetate to him! A really great punk/new wave rarity and in really superb condition for an acetate (see my other listing for more Swell Maps / Nikki Sudden / Epic Soundtracks / Cult Figures etc related rarities).
