THE BEATLES - 'REVOLVER'
Released in August 1966, this ground-breaking album marked not only a change of style for The Beatles but for popular music itself.
This pressing is unique as it includes the alternate 'remix 11' of 'Tomorrow Never Knows' which was only available on discs with an 'XEX 606-1' side 2 matrix.
This mix was replaced with an alternate mix after the first day of pressing and 'remix 11' has never been commercially available since.
This spectacular UK 1st mono pressing dates from day of release on 5th August 1966 on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7009
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK...' text with an 'KT' purchase tax code in the centre of the side 1 label.
Matrix numbers: XEX 605-2 & XEX 606-1
Stamper codes: 1/MG & 2/OG
Vinyl weight: 160g
The disc is housed in the scarcer 'Ernest J. Day' printed front laminated, tri-flipback mono cover.
Complete with its original plain white 'Patents Applied For' worded inner-sleeve.
Disc: VERY GOOD -
This early copy has been played many times and both playing surfaces, whilst clean & bright, bear numerous light surface marks & hairline scratches consistent with frequent play. Some low-level vinyl background is audible, mostly on quieter passages and songs, but there are no heavy clicks, jumps, repeats or any other major audible faults either side.
Cover: EXCELLENT -
Clean & strong with a small bend towards the upper left corner but no other signfiicant signs of wear. The rear panel is clean & unworn and free from any writing or missing paper. There is a trace of wear to the spine laminate but it is fully worded and both seams are unstressed & fully intact.
Clean & flat with a few gentle wrinkles from storage but no writing, tears or seam splits.
