Item Description

Hi, and welcome to psych_out! auctions!!!

I've collected50's, 60's, and early 70's records of almost every genre -Psych, Prog, Psychedelic Funk, Soul,Rhythm 'n' Blues, Pop, Folk, Garage, Acid, Freakbeat, Rock, Jazz e.t.c and everything in between for all my life!!!Obviously, 90% of the LP's I've ever gotten hold of are completelytrashed from the hard living ways and the rock 'n' roll, drug and booze fuelled debauchery of all the wild parties of the times, but the golden 10%? Reluctantly, I've decided tooffer themto all of you serious record collectors out there!!! I'm currently trying to set up a record label so unfortunately personal sacrifices have to be made when it comes to my collection, resulting in GREAT benefits for all you shrewd bidders and serious connosieurs of TRUE solid goldmusic history out there!!!Make no mistake, I'lltry my best to consistently offer some of theVERY BESTrecords available on ebay, many which have taken me YEARS to find!!!

I aim to put a weekly batch up (time permitting) every Wednesday, all timed to end 10 days later on Saturday night. I'll only everofferTHE BEST, MOST AMAZING,MOST IMPORTANT,VERYRAREST UK 1ST PRESSORIGINAL RELEASE RECORDSI've got!!! I won't insult you with later 2ndpressings unless they are of exceptional quality and rarity. I'm sure you love good music as much as me, especially when it's a 1st Press LP,direct from the master tape, as the musicians intended it to be heard (none of this "digitally remastered",weak reissued, remixedrubbish from hired hands with one eye on the mixing desk and the other on the clock! If these sessionmen really knew how genius should sound, surely they would've been geniuses themselves?! There will only ever be one Hendrix, and that's just a tiny example).

I try tobe one of the best sellers on ebay and would like to thank all of you potential bidders for your support and taste in music!!! I strictly grade all LP's I list, visually and sonicallyusing the UK RRPG standardsas customer satisfaction is highly important to me, and I'll always do my very best not to let you down. Be sure to add me to your favourite sellers list and check my auctions frequently as i'll be listing some gems that you just WON'T want to miss out on!!!

I think that's everything, so let the auction commence!!!

AN UTTERLY OUTRAGEOUS ONE OFF BARELY PLAYED EXAMPLE OF THIS IMPOSSIBLY RARE SOLID GOLD CLASSIC - EASILY ONE OF, IF NOT THE FINEST EXAMPLE I’VE EVER SEEN - VINYL, AUDIO ANDSLEEVE ALL ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHING!!!HERE IS YOUR CHANCETO OWN A TRULY SCARCE PILLAR OF MUSIC HISTORY IN PHENOMENAL CONDITION!!! Do not miss out on this historic masterpiece, bid now!!!
DON'T underestimate the sheer rarity of this 1st press with day of release black Track labels with inverted matrixes above the catalogue number!!! Yes, this doesn't have the impossibly rare blue text, but only a MINISCULE amount of sleeves EVER did - apparently all the sleeves were meant to be the blue textversion, but as it was just going to press, Noel had a bust up with the management about the size of his picture being too small on the blue textversion (he possibly thought it undermined his contribution)and many other tensions that had been building into a head (like the sheer amount of hangers on in the studio e.t.c), ending in Noel quitting, and Jimi (or maybe the management)got revenge for being left in the lurch with upcoming tours being thrown into chaos e.t.c,by immediately halting the press and reducing the size of Noel's picture even further!!! Petty, I know, but as a result, only an absolute TINY amount EVER had blue text, much like only a TINY amount of the first run of Are You Experienced ever had a fully laminated sleeve!!!
I guess what i'm trying to say is DON'T confuse this as being a later issue - if you were to walk into a record shop on the day this was released, chances are you'd be VERY lucky to even find ONE blue text version amongst the white sleeves on the rack!!! Of course, there was only EVER one pressing of the 1st Press vinyl with the inverted labels (as is the case with the labels here)- it was mere weeks after the release date that the labels were redesigned to the more common (though still very rare) uninverted Track labels!!!
Just like any of the Hendrix experiencealbums, this is one of THE BEST of all time containing some of THE GREATEST music EVER recorded!!! Widely know as his masterpiece, the first two Experience LP's were recorded in a matter of days, this however took around a year!!! (a heck of along time in those days) It was worth it though. It could so easily have fallen apartlike many painstaking works of genius(such as Brian Wilson's unfinished legendary Beach Boys classic SMiLE), but he stuck with it and created a work of pure brilliance which has and will continue to transcend ALL time! If you've never heard Hendrix's original master mix and only the CD reissue, then you're going to be blown away!!! This has got incredible psychedelic effects, MEAN bass and razor sharp lifelike clarity and detail!!! And when Hendrix is jamming on songs like the long bluesy version ofVoodoo Chile and Rainy Day, it sounds incredibly intimate as it floats over the backing band, JUST like his amp is in the room!!!
It's easy to forget just how amazing this LP is what with "Experience Hendrix" doing their best to milk him dry with endless thrown together"Best Of's" over the years. But it was here on this Track original blasting out of my speakers now where the world first heard "Crosstown Traffic",Long Hot Summer Night",Gipsy Eyes",Burning Of The Midnight Lamp",All Along The Watchtower",Voodoo Chile",and all the rest, not to mention the phenomenalboundary breaking "1983 (A Merman I Should Turn To Be)" for the very first time, as they intended to be heard, all in perfect running order, and all as one piece. It has forever secured it's place in the top 10 greatest albums of all time, and there it shall remain until the world blows up!!!
Until that moment? Well, we should alllisten to his records and be thankful that Jimi Hendrix was born!!!
Tracklist :And The Gods Made Love, Electric Ladyland, Crosstown Traffic, Voodoo Chile, Little Miss Strange, Long Hot Summer Night, Come On (Let The Good Times Roll), Gipsy Eyes, Burning Of The Midnight Lamp, Rainy Day Dream Away, 1983 (A Merman I Should Turn To Be), Moon Turn The Tides...Gently Gently Away, Still Raining Still Dreaming, House Burning Down, All Along The Watchtower, and Voodoo Chile (Slight Return).
Musicians :Jimi Hendrix - Vocals / Guitar / Bass /Harpsichord, Noel Redding - Vocals / Bass, Mitch Mitchell-Drums, plus countless other guestssuch as Stevie Winwood, Brian Jones, Al Koopere.t.c.

The LP :

Labels :
Classic UK Original black Track inverted 1st Press labels!!!Allsides are FANTASTIC with NO real signs of age, NO writing, NO stickers, and NO tears whatsoever!!! Just has an absoluteminisculeamount of ultra light spindle marks which suggests that this has barely seen a turntable at all!!! IMPOSSIBLE for a 48 year old record!!! Both must grade overall at least as Excellent++ (LP 1) and Excellent++++ (LP 2)!!!
Record:Visual -
Spectacular Original 1968 UK 1st Press Vinyls!!! Nice bright, clean and shiny as if they were just pressed!!! Fantastic jet black mirror like surfaces, they lookINCREDIBLE with NO nasty scratches, groovewear, or nasty deep scuffs whatsoever!!! The only blemishes off perfection are just a few of the lightest, wispy sleeve traces, one or two ultra light hairlines, and a TINY amount of mega mild non sounding paper scuffs (only visible in strong angled light) mostly caused from where it has sat or been removed from it's cover over the years!!! Of course, none of these ULTRA light blemishes interfere with play AT ALL!!! PHENOMENAL for a record of this age and rarity!!! AWESOME condition - you'll beamazedby how generally clean and unworn it is!!! Must grade overall at least as Excellent (LP 1) and Excellent++ (LP 2)!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)
Record : Audio-
Thankfully, it plays AMAZINGLY with fantastic stereo separation and clarity!!! It really sounds incredible with NO hops, hisses, distortion, skips OR sticks!!! Only like ALL records has the MEREST TOUCH of low level static in the rarest few and far between places such as the run in grooves and in maybe literally one or two of the silences between some of the tracks, but that's truly about it!!! It really is basically THE SOUND OF A MINT RECORD!!! A REVELATION FOR THIS LP!!! The music is TRULY crystal clear - It really does play with a CD-like near 100% black silence, but with that bass, clarity, depth and warmth you can only get from UK 1st Press vinyl!!! EVEN the quiet sections!!! Absolutely ESSENTIAL!!! INCREDIBLE for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall audibly at least as Near Mint!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Sleeve:
OriginalUK 1st Pressfully laminated 1968 gatefoldE.J Day MEGA RARE white text sleeve complete with original inners!!!IMPOSSIBLE to find this sleeve in anything approaching a good condition - most are spent, torn and worn due to age and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP!!! This one is NOT, and looks FANTASTIC, especially considering the nature of these fragile sleeves!!! NO tears, NO writing, NO graffiti, NO seam splits OR any seam wear whatsoever, NO really bad marks AT ALL, and still ULTRA strong and solid after all these years!!! Only has a few signs of ultra minor ageing such as only atiny amount of ultra light creases and the merest ghost of a record imprint, only a small amount of the very feintest general near invisible ultra light surface grazing from where it has sat between sleeves over the years (barely any) and two small patches of wear to the very top and bottom of the inside spine only (the only thing which stops this grading even higher, probably slight manufacturing error - outside spine perfect), a touch of denting to the four corners which basically ALL vintage LP's have, and POSSIBLY (just to be sure!!!) one or two other minor signs of age here and there, though nothing that really stands out to note at all!!! And that's truly about it!!! I tend to bring it down by listing the most minor negatives I can possibly find, but this remains an ASTONISHING sleeve, and a TRUE rarity to find one as truly outstanding as this - most have been virtually destroyed or are just about being held together, but not this one!!! It remains ultra strong, solid, unsplit and unspoilt, and even the spine remains ultra strong, solid, unworn and unsplit!!! Must grade overall at least as Very Good++++!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

I've realized that most countries have their own unique grading system. I base mine strictly on the UK RRPG grading system (occasionally with a + or a - to indicate the higher and lower ends of the grade, though I only use these if i'm having real trouble deciding!), so please check their chart for further clarity if you are unsure of what my grades mean. As a general rule, a mint record will be 100% perfect, an excellent record will be in fantastic clean condition with the occasional mild mark and minor use fromthe years, and a very good record will have noticeable, yet light visual markings and obvious signs of age and use, but will still remain clean with relatively light wearand willplay fantastically wellwith plenty of life remaining in it. I very rarely offer records below the very good region unless they are of an EXCEPTIONAL rarity and playing quality...I hope this helps!
