UK 1969 ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING .
This is in beautiful condition. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to sell 43 of these this
copy is in the top ten in terms of condition. Many of the sleeves are shot because this sleeve was
never laminated, unless its from another country. This ORIGINAL UK copy the sleeve grades near
EXCELLENT. The colours are still deep with very slight fading to the bottom front and the opening
edge where the record slots in.Inside this beautiful gate fold sleeve the blue background is very deep
with only the tiniest amount of fading. Seriously,I have only seen a handful of sleeves better than this.
The spine is fully intact and all the spinal writing can be read clearly except for 2 of the digits in the
catalogue number.I have just got through test playing this baby and it is a cracker.JESUS.I really miss him.
What an LP.Cygnet Committee gets me every time...the lines "I will fight for the right to be right I will kill
for the girl who will fight for the right to be right".PROOF RIGHT THERE,that the man was a genius at 22
years old. This whole LP is impossible to bore of.It is without doubt the best acoustic LP ever made!
The labels are in fantastic order with only a few spindle trails to each side.
The vinyl has some very light surface hairlines to both sides, these are only visible under a really bright light.
This thick heavy 60s vinyl has a beautiful sheen with a shimmer like mirror.
The LP also has the original inner sleeve also in excellent condition. The album plays magnificently with no
problems at all.No jumps skips or sticking anywhere
to be found. Its very hard to find fault with the playing of this record its pretty flawless really.
I would grade the LP as EXCELLENT.A lovely copy of a very highly prized David Bowie ultra rare LP,
in condition like this, you would have your hands full to find a better copy.

Hi Vijar. Yes I do. A huge amount of difference in sound quality to the Man Of Words pressing. I find the UK Phillips
original much richerand warmer with a depth that is just lacking in every other pressing of this LP from any country
with the exception of the South African pressing. That one does sound equally as good. And its down to the different
mixtures in the vinyl used in different countries. Like the UK the South African pressing has a higher degree of shellac
(the material used in cellulose lacquer acetate) in the vinyl . At this time the UK was the envy of the world in how it
produced its records. It simply used better materials and made a better product. But its not just the sound. Even the labels
EXPECIALLY the labels are made with a much higher quality paper. The sleeve`s are totally incomparable. Also and even the inner sleeve.
The man of words inner isn't even poly lined.Made on the cheap, profit motivated typical USA. This is ENGLISH MADE.
When England made things. And every aspect of it is magnificent. There is a kudos attached to owning one of these....
The listeners enjoyment begins when you pick up the sleeve and remove the LP from its poly lined inner, place that slab of heavy
English pressed vinyl on the turntable and watch those beautiful black and silver Phillips labels spin. As the needle cuts through
that rare vinyl get lost in the words and voice of an English artist who changed the world forever. Its just not the same with the
man of words copy !

All my records are housed in Mobile Fidelity Mastering Sleeves.
This prevents further paper scuffs marking the vinyl when removing
the record from the original inner sleeve and prolongs the condition
of the original inner sleeve.
