This is a rare A3 B3 matrix UK press of the great DARK SIDE OF THE MOON.
Released just after the Solid Blue triangle pressings, the A3 B3 presses came just after that variant was taken off the market, and were released in extremely small numbers.
Although DSOM was produced in huge quantities, having any matrix variant with TOP Audio is a rarity, its such complex varied album, and prone to audio loss.
Finding a Complete UK A3 B3 press in this wonderful condition is an extreme rarity indeed and makes this a very special chance to own a genuinely rare collectors copy in TOP condition with Superb Audio.

Eclipse The band s most successful release, The Dark Side of the Moon spent 741 consecutive weeks 14 years on the USA-based Billboard 200 album chart, the longest duration of ANY album in history.
Additionally, the album holds the record of spending the highest amount of time on the Billboard charts, staying there for more than 1,500 weeks that s almost 29 years .
It is one of three albums tied for the claim of second highest selling album globally of all time, selling over forty million or more units.
In addition to its commercial success, The Dark Side of the Moon is often considered to be the group s defining work, and is still frequently ranked by music critics as one of the greatest and most influential albums of all time.
Sales of the album worldwide total over forty million as of 2004, with an average of 8,000 copies sold per week and a total of 400,000 in the year of 2002 making it the 200th best-selling album of that year nearly three decades after its initial release.
A Fantastic pressing of what is undoubtedly one of the most iconic albums of the 20th century.
You will be very hard pushed to find better ALBUM PLAYED FOR GRADING:Yes brilliant - TOP AUDIO Dark Side Of The Moon is a musical masterpiece and is also famously a very sensitive piece of vinyl.
Worn copies can have a lot of surface sound even on musically complex and busy tracks like On The Run .
I am a huge fan of DSOTM, and also highly critical of the audio performance.
I just cant stand to hear a pressing that is worn or plays with anything other than great clear sound.
I am pleased to say that this rare pressing plays through with great, very bright un disturbed audio.
It really is a great example.
Strong sound free of any loud pops or clicks.
The channels are clean and unstressed and there is not even a hint of distortion anywhere on the record.
There is some light occasional static at the start of the record and occasionally after that, but it is light.
The occasional light static tic, but nothing prominent or repetitive or really that noticeable.
The audio plays through with brilliant strong and clear sound.
I will give a detailed account below: This great sounding record starts with some light static in that famous extremely long run in heart beat intro to Speak to Me .
There are no clicks in the run in, before the music starts.
Great clear sound, the track plays superbly with the occasional very light tic the kind found on all vinyls and not a single loud pop anywhere on either side.
Breathe , another delicate track also sounds really clear and the whole of the fist side really plays with superbly clear audio throughout.
On the Run , so often heavily distorted and affected by clicks and hiss plays through with amazing clarity and bright loud sound.
Some very occasional static and the occasional tic only.
Time sounds great with super clear sound, no pops of clicks, a bit of light static during the intro.
This track just sounds great, its so bright and clear, and so is Breathe reprise which is such a delicate down track and very hard to find with even half way clear sound.
Here its just brilliant.
Even the stunning Great Gig in The Sky , such a difficult track to find with clear sound, plays superbly.
A bit of light static during the intro and then during the quiet section of the outro, but again nothing obtrusive.
Money kicks in side 2.
with amazing clear audio.
It plays with an amazing bassy, sonic feel, the original sound that is very hard to find, and lost on most pressings.
A bit of light occasional static only.
Us and them starts amazingly clear with a bit of light static only and a couple of static tics.
This slight static is low level, very infrequent, and very light, the kind you will find on all vinyl.
This track is nearly always plagued by loud pops, clicks, static and even distortion, and this press has none of these, it just sounds superbly clean and bright.
Any background static I have to insist is far in the background, and in no way dominates or interferes with the music.
There are a couple of light static pops but thats it.
Any Colour you Like sounds superb, great clear sound.
No detectable static, two very light pops and no clicks.
Brain Damage sounds superb, bright clear sound leading to the albums climax, with a great pressing of Eclipse , with plays superbly, with brilliant clear audio.
There is some quiet static during the quiet sections only.
No loud pops or clicks or obvious interference at all.
Just great clear sound.
The record plays with staggering power, great audio with minimal interference to distract from the enjoyment of this great record.
There is hardly even any surface or static noise between the tracks.
Even at the end of Time and the run in to the Great Gig In the Sky , it is clean, crisp and rich.
A couple of sound spots at the very start and very end of side 1.
as detailed above, there is the occasional static tic, but certainly nothing obtrusive.
The music jumps out, with incredible definition and clarity, particularly on the percussion instruments, and vocals, which come through with tremendous power.
As is the same with the bass and drums, whilst the guitars come through crisp and clear.
On the whole this lp plays with superb, clear bright audio.
I have given a detailed account and l believe I have been unforgiving in pointing out the slightest audio interference on what is a tremendous 1st ever pressing.
I would give an overall audio grading a very strict grading of EXCELLENT to NEAR MINT THE RECORD Visual Grading A stunning piece of glossy vinyl, this rare second press is really thick and chunky, with amazing deep clear grooves.
A couple of faint whispy paper handling marks and a few very light hairline scuffs, but they are really light.
A really wonderful example that has not been over played A really great example.
Must grade at least at EXCELLENT PLUS to NEAR MINT THE LABELS A lovely set of labels with NO obvious spindle traces.
There is perhaps a single spindle mark on side 1.
only.
These are a superb pair of labels that look virtually unplayed.A really wonderful example Must grade at least at NEAR MINT.
VINYL TESTED FOR ANY SIGNS OF WARPING: Yes, NONE visible what so ever when tested be sight and on a moving turntable.
THE COVER The Matt finish covers of DSOM have to be one of the most prone to wear, of all the classic vinyls from the sixties and early seventies.
Being black, and matt finish and not having the advantage of being laminated, these covers usually faired pretty badly, with serious ring wear and scuffed along the edges.
The Spines are nearly always flattened, worn and scuffed.
Not this one This press comes with its original Cover, and it would be very hard to ever find a better example of any DSOM cover.
These are just so hard to find with out heavily worn edges, corners and surfaces, as well as serious ring wear.
This is a stunning example and has no scuffing to the corners, or rubbing along the edges, and that is virtually un heard of for any pressing of DSOM, let alone an original A3 press .
The opening edges are very square and totally un frayed, with virtually no detectable ring wear.
The back cover is nice and clean, again with no ring wear, which is very unusual for these delicate covers.
The inside Gatefold is clean and virtually unmarked.
The Spine shows no only, and is a nice square example.
All round, this is a really stunning example A really wonderful example.
Must grade at least at EXCELLENT PLUS The album was originally released in a gatefold LP sleeve designed by Hipgnosis and George Hardie, and bore Hardie s iconic dispersive prism on the cover.
The Cover design was aimed to represent three elements the band s stage lighting, the album lyrics, and Richard Wright s request for a simple and bold design.
A spectrum of light moves through to the gatefold sleeve an idea that Waters came up with.
Added shortly afterwards, the gatefold design also includes a visual representation of the heartbeat sound used throughout the album, and the back of the album cover.
The light band emanating from the prism on the album cover has six colours, missing indigo compared to the traditional division of the spectrum into red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.
The concept was continued with two posters and a sheet of pyramid-themed stickers.
One poster bore pictures of the band in concert, overlaid with scattered letters to form PINK FLOYD, and the other an infrared photograph of the Great Pyramids of Giza, created by Powell and Thorgerson.
In 2003 VH1 declared that The Dark Side of the Moon had the 4th-greatest album cover of all time, and in 2009 listeners of the UK radio station Planet Rock voted the packaging the greatest album cover of all time.
POSTERS - NEAR MINT This rare pressing of Dark Side of the Moon comes with BOTH original posters, in IMMACULATE condition.
Very 1st editions came with thicker flat matt posters, these are extremely rare and obviously different to all other variants.
They virtually never appear on the market in any condition.
No tears or stains.
Nice crisp edges.
NO tape marks or pin holes A really wonderful set.
Must grade at least at NEAR MINT STICKERS - NEAR MINT Two original PERMANENT, Fasson CRACKBACK stickers, in NEAR MINT condition.
No tears.
Nice crisp edges.
No tape marks or pin holes.
The stickers will come in a separate envelope to ensure that they do not get bent or damaged.
This Rare Set also comes with an Original Rare Outer Wrap Sticker.
These were virtually always discarded with the outer cellophane when the record was opened.
A Real rarity in NEAR MINT condition The Dark Side of the Moon is the sixth studio album by Pink Floyd.
The album was developed as part of a forthcoming tour of live performances, and premi red several months before studio recording began.
The new material was further refined during the tour, and was recorded in two sessions in 1972 and 1973 at Abbey Road Studios in London.
Pink Floyd used some of the most advanced recording techniques of the time, including multitrack recording and tape loops.
Analogue synthesisers were given prominence in several tracks, and a series of recorded interviews with staff and band personnel provided the source material for a range of philosophical quotations used throughout.
The Dark Side of the Moon was an immediate success, topping the Billboard 200 for one week.
It subsequently remained in the charts for 741 weeks fourteen years , longer than any other album in history.
With an estimated 45 million units sold, it is Pink Floyd s most commercially successful album and one of the best-selling albums worldwide.
It has twice been re-mastered and re-released, and has been covered by several other acts.
The Dark Side of the Moon is one of Pink Floyd s most popular albums for fans and critics alike, and is ranked as one of the greatest vinyl albums of all time.
THE INNEROriginal plain black poly lined inner sleeve in EXCELLENT condition.
No tears, stains, just some light creasing and No seem splits.
Crisp and clean the top edges and completely un worn.
These are so rare now in any type of condition, and this is a great example.
RARITY Dark Side has been re produced in massive quantities, being one of the most iconic albums of the 20th century.
On saying that, finding an original UK early press in great condition is extremely rare indeed.
The cover is almost impossible to find without serious wear, even modestly worn examples are scarce and this one is a brilliant example.
Finding a great cover like this, with an Unplayed piece of vinyl, rare black inner sleeve and all the original and correct inserts, fantastic .
A DSOM pressing in this type of condition is very scarce.
The vinyl is so often played so much, heavily marked, scratched, with noisy, poor and distorted sound.
Any DSOM examples with a record in this type of condition, that plays practically perfectly, very rare.
An ORIGINAL A3 B3 press, with ORIGINAL immaculate Cover, original inner sleeve and ORIGINAL posters and stickers, all in great condition, makes this very rare indeed GREAT COVERS WITH NO SEAM SPLITS, NO TEARS, NO WRITING, NO STICKERS.GREAT VINYLS WITH NO LOUD CLICKS OR POPS, NO JUMPS OR REPEATS - GUARANTEED SCRUPULOUS EXAMINATION and TESTING PLEASE NOTE:This record has been play tested on highly sensitive equipment to ensure the sound quality and accuracy of description.
I aim to give a precise and concise description of the sound quality, pointing out any defects so that you know what you are buying.
I will not go into screeds of information about the nature of the songs, as I imagine that you already know them well.
I aim to describe all items as accurately as possible, and offer a full refund on return if for any reason you are not completely happy with the item description..VINYL SOUND - PLEASE NOTE:The highest quality vinyl with clear sound is rare, and is what I always aim for.
I only sell records that play with TOP AUDIO performance, super clear sound uninterrupted by hiss or other interference.
Even with the cleanest copies you will find occasional static sound or occasional light tics during playback, caused by a build of dust in the grooves.
This is clearly different from the distortion, loud pops, repeating tics or clicks that are found on heavily played and worn pieces of vinyl.
Any static build up will reduce when played, and I advise a light clean should be given between plays for optimal performance.
VINYLLarge format art work covers with the original sound and mix unique to vinyl and of the highest quality audio.
