Item Description

for fans of the original wave of American hardcore and obscure KBD punk AK -47 single from Houston Texas, from Pineapple Records circa 1980.
Songs are the badge means you suck and kiss my machine .Mikhailt.
Kalashnikov s AK-47 The Badge Means You Suck b/w Kiss My Machine 7 Pineapple Records VRRNP-864/VRRNP-865 I bought this on a trip to Houston to take my little son to AstroWorld.
We stopped at a record store as I was want to do, and the clerk couldn t say enough about how great this was.
I brought it back to New Orleans and put it on a cassette I used to love to protect my vinyl and played it for all my punk friends and it went over like crazy.
We were all in that hate the cops stage of our life and it just fit.
This was played twice.
Once to record to cassette, and once to make sure it sounded as good as it did when I first got it it does.
No skips, pops, crackles nothing but AK-47 I took good photos so you can see the sleeve.
I kept it in a cello sleeve, but the shelf I had it on, some records slid over,so you can see the bends around where the edge of the vinyl is.
It isn t even a fold, so it can probably be pressed flat and then look mint.
Below is some commentary about the single I don t remember who it was to give them credit, but it colors in some history about the significance of this record.
I also have the lyric insert.
thanks for looking.
The single best anti-cop punk song is The Badge Means You Suck by Mikhailt.
Kalashnikov s AK-47, released in 1980.
To the question, What about Black Flag s Police Story ? my response was simple: AK-47smart.
Black Flag dumb.
The equation may have been more complicated if the response had been What about The Dicks Hate the Police ? Police Story with Dez singing, natch does conjure up memories of getting nailed in the head by a police truncheon outside the Starwood, mostly among those who hadn t been born yet.
What s more, name me one city that is not run by pigs.
But AK-47 s power was in its refusal to attempt to beat the cops at their own game.
They wouldn t fight the cops in the streets.
They would brilliantly channel their rage into a 4-minute tirade and match their rage with intellectual acumen by writing caustic lyrics and a chorus that diverted a Houston Police Department slogan.
No, the badge doesn t mean you care.
The badge means you suck.
What may be a bit embarrassing to the LBSA crowd is that the best anti-cop punk song was penned by hippies.
Check out the background on the front cover.
Then check out the photo of the guitarist printed on the insert of the estimable compilation Deep in the Throat of Texas.
Then listen to that guitar solo almost a minute of wild guitar licks played with aggressive reckless abandon.
By a hippie.
So the best anti-cop song and the best punk guitar solo this side of Death, Agonies, and Screams, or perhaps Warsystem.
It s starting to sound like I think this record is essential.

I will charge the same price for shipping but I am going to use Priority Mail.
It is a better service, faster and has tracking info.
Out of U.S.A., still contact me for a shipping quote depending on what country.
Oh yeah, the photo with 150 written on the inside top of the sleeve is shown so you can see all flaws or marks.
It was 1980 so it was 1.50, not 150.00.
thanks On Jul-06-17 at 14:24:39 PDT, seller added the following information: International bidders: I have not sold on eBay in years and was unaware of the Global Shipping Program that I was automatically opted into.
It is increased protection for sellers, yes, but it costs the buyer more than being shipped directly by me.
I cannot opt out of the program on these current listings, but I will do so in my future auctions.
I sold on eBay previously, and shipped to Europe for years with no problems.
All I can do is apologize to you on these current auctions.
If you are an international bidder, there is a way to calculate your shipping cost in the auction, but it is an estimate and you will not know the final price until it is figured in the end.
I am sorry and hope this does not cost someone in the international community an item they really want.
Thanks.
