AWESOME ARCHIVE COPY 1972 STILL SEALED ORIGINAL DEEP PURPLE MACHINE HEAD USA - olive green? WARNER BROTHERS - BS 2607 FANTASTIC, PERFECT 1972 ORIGINAL IN GATEFOLD COVER WITH 4 SHARP CORNERS - BEST COPY WE VE EVER COME ACROSS ...
NEVER OPENED / NEVER PLAYED Because the album is SEALED, we cannot determine exact pressing, though the original owner advised with confidence that they know it is an original pressing.
The pressing is weight-heavy ala old style records, NO BAR CODE and has the little holes in the plastic cellophane in the way the 60s and early 70s releases were produced.
This is prime DEEP PURPLE at their peak, Machine Head is the ultimate turned-on SCREAMER here in archive unplayed condition ...
The Lp was a BIG party record back in the early 70s and most copies are trashed some 45 years later...
Should include the large fold out custom designed lyrics insert Should include the original printed W.Bros inner sleeve to the 1972 pressing Ah, now this is one legendary album, this here Machine Head.
A true classic of hard rock, and after 45 years it has held up incredibly well.
Released in 72, the album was a huge success, mainly because of that grinder with the big guitar riff that opens Side 2, but we ll get to that later on.
Where to begin with this classic? Well how about the opener Highway Star , what a way to open this beast On this high tempo ass kicking classic, Ian Gillan s shrieks are at their best, and Jon Lord and especially Ritchie Blackmore get to show off their amazing soloing skills.
Blackmore s guitar solo is easily one of the best you ll hear.
Oh, and Ian Paice on the drums is a outstanding with powerdrives everywhere.
The result is one of the best album openers ever and arguably of the best Deep Purple songs.
Following that is the overlooked Maybe I m a Leo , nice crunchy riff there.
A stellar Paice drum roll opens Pictures of Home , a somewhat more somber track longing for a return home.
Lord plays another fantastic solo, and there is even an unexpected BASS solo from Roger Glover Side 1 closes with the more accessible Never Before , then you flip the vinyl over and...
the riff ...
Smoke on the Water , a classic tune unfolding the tale of how Machine Head was recorded, along with the story of some stupid with a flare gun burning a building down during a Frank Zappa concert.
Happens all the time, doesn t it? Following Smoke is the extended piece Lazy , a 7 minute jam filled with crazy good organ and guitar solos.
There s even a quick shot of harmonica too.
Sadly we re already at the end this is quite the short album actually , but the last one is a monster Space Truckin .
Listen to that opening organ riff...More powerful Paice drums, and then there is Ian...giving possibly the greatest vocal of his career.
YEAH YEAH YEAH SPACE TRUCKIN Sorry, had to do it...
So that s Machine Head for ya.
A driving ROCK classic for all time, if you don t have this then shame on you A: Highway Star 6:05 Maybe I m a Leo 4:51 Pictures of Home 5:03 Never Before 3:56 B: Smoke on the Water 5:40 Lazy 7:19 Space Truckin 4:31 CONDITION: rated: STILL FACTORY SEALED ...
never opened / never played - the thick gatefold is stiff and solid all over with 4 sharp corners ...
a final collection copy, and a great essential to virtually any collection.
There are no delete marks, no bends, no split seams and no writing....Classic collectible NEVER PLAYED still factory sealed ....
A cool addition to anyone s music library SEE: SELLERS OTher items for similar cool sounds for head people...
