CLIFFORD JORDAN’S FIRST DATE AS A LEADER ACTUALLY FOUND HIM SHARING A HEATED
JAM SESSION WITH FELLOW TENOR JOHN GILMORE. THIS WAS ONE OF GILMORE’S FEW
SESSIONS OUTSIDE OF SUN RA’S ORBIT AND, IF ANYTHING, HE SLIGHTLY OVERSHADOWS
THE COOLER-TONED JORDAN . . . BEAUTIFUL COPY OF THIS ORIGINAL 1957 FIRST MONO ISSUE
WITH REMARKABLE VINYL RECORD OBVIOUSLY VERY LITTLE PLAYED... DOES JUST HAVE A
COUPLE OF ULTRA LIGHT, HARMLESS MARKS AND A FEWER SLEEVE IMPRINTS DUE TO
STORAGE - GREAT LISTENING EXPERIENCE ALL THE WAY THROUGH. DEEP GROOVE LABELS
WITH 47 WEST 63rd NEW YORK 23 ADDRESS ON BOTH AND ON BACK BOTTOM SIDE OF THE
COVER AS WELL *** “RVG” AND “EAR” ETCHED IN THE DEAD WAX. MATRIX NUMBERS :
BN-1549-A / BN-1549-B. THE JACKET APPEARS IN STRONG CONDITION WITH SLIGHTLY WORN
CORNER AT UPPER LEFT SIDE, NO WRITING AND TINY PAPER TEAR ON REAR WHERE A SMALL
STICKER WAS PROBABLY REMOVED.
