ONEADAYRECORDS Simply Delivering Quality Music to the World in Quality, Safe Packing.
Postage: UK 4.75 1 per extra record .
Europe including Russia 12.50 2 per extra record .
Rest of World including ALL parts of the USA 16.50 3 per extra record .
All boxes signed for in quality, safe packaging I NEVER use mailing envelopes that offer virtually no protection at all in fact I think these things should be banned as records WILL arrive damaged in them at some time.
Here, you get what you pay for SAFE PACKING in BOXES using 7mm DOUBLE-WALL STIFFENERS.
Full details nearer the end of the listing.
Posting to Russia: Yes, I do post to Russia.
But delivery can take up to 4 to 6 weeks from the UK.
So please be patient.
I will submit a tracking number to the winning bidder, and when the packet arrives there it can be followed online using the Russian post website.
ALSO: I now apply the Ebay 2-day rule for non-payment to keep things moving cash-flow is important for any small business.
I will always keep my PP prices as low as possible, and even after yet another Royal Mail price hike from April this year, I have NOT raised my prices and will never compromise on solid, safe packing that is invariably heavier than most you will get.
My PP offers probably the best value-for-money for vinyl records available, and I even will pay for full insurance on any record that sells for over 100 at NO extra cost that is UK and abroad.
Also I aim to post the very same day after payment is received.
You WILL see the difference when my packet arrives.
FINALLY: Late payers will now be blocked at my discretion.
As will any bidder who cancels a bid.
I do not like this practice as it is most often used to phish out the price to beat.
Ebay does not approve and neither do I so only bid on my items if you want them.
Artist or Band: LED ZEPPELIN Album Title: Led Zeppelin One .
Producer: Jimmy Page.
Executive Producer: Peter Grant.
TRACK LIST: Side 1: Good Times Bad Times Babe I m Gonna Leave You You Shook Me Dazed and Confused.
Side 2: Your Time is Gonna Come Black Mountain Side Communication Breakdown I Can t Quit You Baby How Many More Times.
Rarity Overview: One of the best-known, famous and greatest albums ever made.
The title itself on the Plum label is not too difficult to find with the orange coloured cover.
The very first examples with the turquoise cover and Superhype credit record are a very different matter, they are and always have been very rare.
This one has the considerably rarer UNCORRECTED matrix as well as seen in my close-up picture.
There still seems debate over which is a true first pressing of this landmark album, as I was only 12 when it was issued in 1969, I prefer to let other so-called experts give their opinions but this is the one that serious really want.
I prefer to describe in detail what is exactly here in front of me, then you decide.
What I do know is this is one of the most sort-after and prized albums ever issued.
Runs with the turquoise cover were very small and most around now are locked away in prized and valuable collections.
This album has soared in value in recent years and I feel sure it will continue to do so.
I never put reserves on my items as it s greatly misleading for bidders and I always keep my opening bids very low to let collectors and the market value dictate what an item is worth I do not work from fixed minimum profits.
Some I win, some I lose, that simple.
I intend to do the same on this immensely rare record, but I also reserve my right to take it off the market if it does not reach what I consider a fair price.
I have seen trashed copies of this in London that grade only around fair or even less , with records that I am sure would sound as wretched as they look, but still with asking prices way exceeding even the new Record Collector Price Guide prices.
This is a very fine all-round copy not pristine for looks, but grading at or very close to Excellent.
The most important factor still has to be sound quality and on that account this record is SUPERB it plays with very little at all unwanted and that is an immensely difficult task on any record this great age.
If anyone thinks all Led Zeppelin I record the same well NOT so.
Only the ultimate first and very early issues offer that genuine X-Factor in terms of audio fidelity, and this one totally blew me away.
Such pieces are why many serious music-lovers spend many thousands on top-quality hi-fi systems and only the very issues really make the grade for audiophile purists.
Of course the turquoise cover is a major factor on this legendary debut, and this is still attractive with some surface creasing being the only real issue.
So not for perfectionists who only want practically as new copies at any price.
But at 45-years-old, this legendary, very popular and evergreen rock masterpiece is still in lovely and still impressive condition and will please many collectors wanting one.
Indeed if it wasn t, I would never offer it as my many regular customers will know.
Label Format: Atlantic Red and Maroon Plum format.
This ultimate standard first example has the very rare and highly prized Superhype credits.
Few copies were issued with these credits making this copy the most prized in the Led Zeppelin catalogue.
Most Plum copies of this title have the far more common Warner credits.
These have matt, smooth surfaces.
Label Conditions: Both clean, still fresh and attractive with spindle marks being below moderate in number, these being mostly fine and light and only really showing under angled light.
So a copy played a few times, but very modestly conpared to most very early examples seen.
As stated above, this one plays superbly with very little unwanted at all more detail on that further down.
Cat Number: 588171.
Mode / Speed: Stereo / 33.3 rpm.
Weight of this Record: 135 grams.
A typical solid weight for this pressing.
Country of Manufacture: England.
Original Year of Release: 1969 Matrix Nos: 588171 A//1 1 1 ? / 588171 B//1 1 ? 4 these matrixes have NO error corrections e.g.
no digits are struck through or crossed.
The ? are unclear figures, possibly 8s, this is the case on this first issue.
Musicians: Jimmy Page Robert Plant John Bonham John Paul Jones.
Brief Info: Originally issued in very small numbers within the turquoise sleeve lettered sleeve and some labels had Superhype credits.
This was withdrawn fairly quickly, some say because as it was thought not to stand out enough, reprinted and replaced with the far more familiar orange lettering and logo.
Or the turquoise sleeve was simply a mistake .
Again, I do not know, but for sure, these are rare and are not seen often, now over the years making legendary status and one of the world s most cherished and sort-after rock albums ever made.
Being so early, most that surface are in very poor conditions.
This copy on offer has the blue cover and the Superhype label credits with uncorrected matrix details what that means simply, NO numbers are crossed or struck through.
That occurred on later pressings and are much easier to find.
All that can be seen on my close-up pictures of the matrixes.
This most prized and famous pressing offers the most detailed, dynamic and full-on sound ever made on a commercial standard issue copy.
The legend started here, formed from the ashes of the Yardbirds, this self-assured debut album immediately established them in their own right.
Faultless musicianship combined with strong material to create an emphatic statement of purpose.
Blues standards are extensively reworked and original songs are as powerful and memorable as found on any debut album ever made.
Page s guitar explores the instrument s potential with dazzling runs of sonic inventiveness, while Plant takes the lead vocal into new realms of expression.
Raw and loud this has moments of true brilliance and many still are convinced this was their best ever album.
Led Zeppelin albums are always best enjoyed on the Plum labels, they offer the finest sound possible with loud and dynamic sound qualities that are never bettered.
The Superhype pressings are the MOST prized of all, they offer just that little bit of extra detail and fidelity that is hard to put into words, simply listen to it on a worthy system and hear for yourself.
Several audiophile customers of mine, when the subject is raised, agree.
Indeed the winner of the last blue cover one of these I sold on Ebay that some time ago sent me a long email of the sheer pleasure of his experience listening to it, he agreed this pressing offered sound like no other.
Of all the Led Zeppelin albums I find, this first album is always the one that seems the most played and in lesser conditions.
Okay its the oldest, but not by that much.
It simply was adored by early owners and often played into submission.
This rare Blue and Superhype example has relatively minor visual blemishes, but still looks impressive and sounds fantastic.
A nicely matured example that most collectors will enjoy.
This record is pure raw-power and plays supremely well it s a highly demanding album and rarely plays to absolute perfection.
That organ introduction on side two is always problematic, but here little at all unwanted and one of the cleanest examples for this challenging opening I have heard for some considerable time.
This was also play-graded at volume on my usual LP12, at times, it almost took my breath away.
It will take something pretty special to match or better this record for sound this is NO superhype , not al Plum copies of this album sound the same that is a plain fact.
Cover Grade and Format: NEAR EXCELLENT: and for a cover of this considerable age and popularity, that is being somewhat harsh.
A fully laminated single format with the highly prized turquoise logo and band name as seen in close-up .
Printed and made in England by MacNeill Press.
Within the world of rock music, this is still one of the most cherished, iconic and famous covers ever issued.
It has reached and exceeded legendary status and these are becoming ever more difficult to find in better conditions.
This includes the Polydor-style inner sleeve.
Cover Cosmetic Improvements: None Apparent.
Lamination Front: When viewed full-on, this classic iconic cover looks hugely impressive.
Grading is difficult and subjective, even with a few surface creases, this for me is very close to Excellent, and I sure some would say better still.
It has no damage and most of any wear is creasing.
Let s start with the front: the laminate retains fine shine, freshness and clarity.
Any dulling seen under angled light, is very light and little, there is no major lifting with just a fine sliver on the very spine edge towards the upper half.
This hardly even shows with normal viewing.
There are several half moon surface creases near the right edge that are seldom avoided totally.
Being made with thin card, removal and insertion of the record makes close to inevitable with normal usage.
Few thought about long-term investment of such records back in the day, covers were there just for store the record and normal handling issues occurred as a matter-of-course.
There is one semi-thumb crease as well with anything others being mainly fine edge types.
Overall, this retains a clean and attractive appearance with the black ink still intense and dramatic, both the important blue text and logo areas are pristine.
Tiny chips to the lower corner areas is close to nit-picking, the lack of peeling or major indentations being more important.
So overall, a very fine front that gives only fairly gentle clues to age, and for me, I have no issue with that.
Lamination Back: The back is very similar in most-all aspects.
Several surface creases, but only one being of moderate size, that being the only one that can still be seen with normal full-on viewing, but fairly modestly so.
Many of these early covers, mostly being the orange text ones, attractive heavy grubbiness to the edges of which this one has avoided.
So that makes this example look less aged and still quite fresh looking.
Top Bottom Edges: Barely any wear up to the corner tips that have rubbed on the bottom.
Very thin edges that retain full laminate protection, both straight and very smooth to the fingertip, being unscuffed with a neat barely thickened panel end.
Right Edge s , and Type: Clean, mostly sharp with very little wear.
Any thickening or burring minimal and light as seen viewed end-on.
Record enters on this edge that is guaranteed untrimmed or enhanced in any way.
Spine and Text: A fine spine that is made fairly thin in manufacture, so only having one very fine crease is very good news.
Still quite solid with any traces of compression only very light, the ends are nipped in manufacture.
Still fully laminated with no peeling, all mostly still smooth to the fingertip as well.
All text is present and unworn, mostly well centred on the fairly narrow depth, the LED ZEPPELIN near the top just a fraction low in manufacture.
Corners: The bottom corners have small tip rubs, little to fault on the top pair.
Very fine to excellent shape retained with minimal traces of creasing and no knocks worthy of mention.
Cover Summary: I fully realise the importance, collectability and fragility of this incredibly rare and sort-after cover.
Hence my detailed descriptions above, with some creasing and minor blemishes, I know it s not for the perfectionist or highly discerning collector.
As with any cover, near mint ones will exist, but they become available very rarely and then for massive prices that many cannot, or would not choose to pay.
Sometimes a little compromise has to be made, and I still consider this one very impressive many are happy not to have squeaky clean pristine items, but prefer to be reminded a little of age and vintage.
I include myself as well.
So this still attractive example will please many collectors, it could be just the one you have been waiting for.
The Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT: the Polydor-style polylined inner has only gently aged with one corner crease.
Both window circles crisp and undamaged, the lining clear if a little crinkled.
All edges unsplit with no repairs.
This inner carries the 109 1969 date-code.
Vinyl Condition/Visual Grading: EXCELLENT: or very close to.
The playing surfaces retain a very fine shine, and high degree of freshness with two lovely clean labels.
Viewed in standard daylight conditions, this record looks very impressive indeed, one fine surface marks is seen on side one with NO sound whatsoever .
When viewed far more critically under my usual very bright grading lamp, very fine, mostly whispy surface marks are seen.
These usually the result of dry-cloth cleaning and totally harmless, barely even registering at all with normal viewing.
The odd fine hairline and a couple of very small groove arcs that follow the grooves seen on side one in manufacture, but these have NO SOUND whatsoever and are hardly unusual.
The lack of penetrating needle scratches is a massive plus, even a bonus on a 45-year-old record in fact only four faint ticks were heard on the album these close to ear-to-speaker light.
This genuine first matrix Superhype credit copy plays VERY impresisvely and the experience was little short of electric.
So like the cover, not for the visual perfectionist but how many truly ever will be these days? But I feel most collectors will be more than proud to own this most prized of records.
Album Played For Grading: Yes.
I play ALL records I offer before submitting to Ebay, also the record is played in its entirety unless clearly stated otherwise.
I do NOT play snippets or joining grooves to check for sound quality and quietness I play from the beginning to end via clinically revealing BW speakers that include the legendary tweeter from their awesome Nautilus range that reveals every blemish or minuscule sound present on any record.
Sound Quality and Audio Grading: This landmark, even groundbreaking rock album plays even above its high visual grading with very little to fault at all.
It offers strong, distortion-free sound, all frequencies are sharp and clear - sound quality is astonishing with a wide dynamic range and very detailed sound.
An album of immense power and raw dynamics, this record is capable of awesome intensity when played at high volume on a top-quality system.
Dazed and Confused my personal favourite Led Zeppelin track ever plays with incredible sonic delivery.
For some time, the sound is restrained with that beautiful eeriness, but you can just feel it s ready to explode at any time and the finale does just that with a cresendo of sheer raw power.
This gave me that rare tingle factor that only the very best recordings and albums ever can this simply fizzes from the speakers with incredible pace and rhythm that is hard to really put into words.
Check out also the start of side two with it s incredibly hard-to-track solo organ introduction that almost never plays devoid of some often severe crackle or distortion.
In fact I have heard examples of this that literally break-up totally with severe noise and horrible groove-wear sound and echo, and this even on clean looking copies this often blamed on static.
This intro is critical and highly uncompromising, few examples will play this even well let alone perfectly .
Only the exceptional copies that have received fewer and more careful plays on more sympathetic equipment have any real chance these days and this copy almost excels.
This has minimal unwanted sounds or crackle, the merest hint or trace only and this too on a revealing deck and system , and at considerable volume too.
The organ is fully focused with unusual sharpness and clarity.
Few will better this overall and it can be played loudly with a high degree of confidence not silent, but as close it realistically ever gets in real terms, I have heard few better on any copy.
When the bass and drums kick in, VERY hard it can almost make you leave your seat, the slam is breathtaking as Bonzo hits that drum with massive force.
Minimal, if any surface sounds registered elsewhere and no pops were noted, just four or five very gentle ticks on side one that as stated further up, were close to ear-to-speaker light.
Overall, this is an exceptional clean pressing for a highly demanding album.
Hear those running basslines grinding and the percussion has real zing and breathtaking realism.
Page s guitar splinters through the speaker-cloth as does Plant s awesome, expressive vocals.
This is powerhouse blues-rock at its very best.
I filed this under Rock Classic and this is a terrific copy to experience what early Led Zeppelin were all about, it has to be one of the ultimate albums within the genre.
Remember this album s age and vintage and what is could have been subjected too.
I know I state this often in my adverts, but so many vintage classics were written off by worn or damaged stylus that stripped and wrecked those delicate groove walls.
One arm drop or jolt and there goes another one written-off, such decks took no prisoners with massively high tracking weights.
A high percentage of these would have still been played on old mono record players with the predictable disastrous results.
This has clearly avoided such abuse or accidents and certainly has not been overplayed.
Few copies will match or outperform this early Superhype pressing significantly I feel sure and this was an awesome experience to hear again.
Believe me, NOT all Plum Led Zeppelin I records sound the same this uncorrected matrix first issue has that rare X-Factor for ultimate fidelity and delivery.
Any audio blemishes this is the correct word to use here are tiny, few, gentle and faint and this must rank as one of the best audio rock experiences.
The mostly very fine surface marks are ignored and purely superficial.
Even though a very rare record and cover , I will not offer any example of this or similar records lightly.
This one more than measures up, I enjoyed this record immensely.
Nothing of any real note spoilt my pleasure when play-grading this astonishing record.
For sound, it will prove difficult to find significantly better and I can strongly recommend it no Superhype needed, this is just an amazing audio experience.
Not perfect visually, but it sure gives an astonishing account of itself on the turntable.
A pure piece of rock history, they hardly get better or more important than this.
Now one of the most established sellers on Ebay and still offering the finest and most accurately described and graded records I can find.
I pride myself on offering a variety of genres to keep my site as interesting as possible.
I will rarely offer any record that falls below a true Excellent grading, unless its of a certain rarity which will justify offering a lesser grade.
I try, to the best of my ability to describe as accurately and as honesty as I can all items I offer for sale with all the relevant information I can think of to help any potential bidder and collector.
You may notice I only submit records sparingly on Ebay - on average ONEADAY, a couple more at weekends if time permits, hence the name - time rarely allows for more as I Play-Grade virtually every record I offer in their entirety, not just bits to guess a grade - visuals alone do not always tell a true or full story.
I will mention any defects or flaws no matter how small that I notice to be fair as possible to any interested collector I am very fussy and my buyers have the right to be too.
Every record I offer, whether it be a common or rare item deserves the same respect as far as I am concerned and will be treated the same - just because an item is rare does not always mean its good.
I get just as much pleasure offering a relatively common record in stunning near mint condition as the real rare items.
All the pictures I use for your guidance are taken with a digital camera or scanned - they are NOT improved, cleaned-up or made better looking than they are with camera trickery or enhancing with digital programmes.
What you see is what you get and scanned labels will give a more accurate representation of the genuine colour than flash photography where light is variable.
I cannot guarantee total accuracy for colours however but most will be very close.
If any picture I take looks more flattering than the actual item for any reason, I will clearly state the fact in the advert and vice-versa.
I hope the item below is to your liking - any questions can be emailed and I will do my very best to answer you.
I am enthusiastic, and have a fair degree of knowledge about many genres and I promise quality items - bid with confidence - excellence comes as standard and so does Near Mint regularly.
Please assume all records I offer have NO jumps, sticks, warps or writing on covers or labels unless clearly stated to the contrary.
Thanks for your interest and Good luck MIKE.
Equipment Used for Play-Grading: I now play-grade ALL the records I offer unless clearly stated to the contrary on the following equipment: Deck: Linn LP12/Hercules/Cirkus with Ittok Mk II arm and Ortofon Rondo Red moving coil cartridge tracks at 2 grams .
Amps: Naim Nait 5i with Project USB phono stage and Chord interconnects.
Speakers: BW 704 Floorstanding 3-way Monitors bi-wired with Terrarium Black terminated cable .
All records I offer on Ebay are cleaned on a professional VPI-17 vacuum machine before play-grading for the cleanest and best possible sound and will include a brand new lined inner and protective cover too.
Pictures taken with a Nikon D5000 SLR Digital Camera.
PACKING - THIS IS WHAT YOU GET.
What You Get: To confirm to the strict Ebay rules on shipping, I must now send ALL my packets Signed-For with NO exceptions.
Both buyers and sellers want their packets to have a safer journey and this is not a bad thing.
I now offer the fastest possible posting, often the very next day after payment is received or within two to three days maximum unless on holiday .
I only use FIRST-CLASS Mail.
The record s cover will be placed within a BRAND NEW soft protective sleeve and the actual record will be professionally cleaned on my new VPI-17 Pro vacuum system to give ultimate clean grooves and playing surfaces and the best possible looks and ultimate sound quality.
You will NOT get tired, dull looking, dust infested records inside worn and foggy covers with tatty inners from this seller and that s a promise and guarantee.
All records are posted in professional boxes NOT Mailers, these do not offer any real protection .
The record s are REMOVED from their main cover to avoid edge splits and placed within a brand new polylined inner.
The record s original inner will be included if available.
The boxes are then reinforced with at least TWO, ULTRA THICK stiffeners for maximum extra protection these are FOUR TIMES thicker than commercial stiffeners and are custom-made for oneadayrecords.
Really rare and expensive albums will even be Double Boxed if deemed necessary and possible.
When larger boxes are used, the thick record and stiffener sandwich is then thickly embedded into bubble-wrap to bulk out the record inside the box to centre the item inside to reduce the risk of damage still further.
Printed address labels are used for clarity as well as a sender label.
Customers requests or special needs for PP will be respected if at all possible but Signed-For posting is NOT an option anymore.
I do not profit on posting and the cost of this lavish packing is NOT even charged for, I offer probably the best-value and safest shipping possible for ultimate confidence.
The boxes and ultra thick double-wall stiffeners and bubble wrap make a near impregnable fortress for safe shipping and this is used inland and overseas for ALL my records, not just the rare and expensive.
I will invoice any winning bidder as soon as possible after the auction ends.
My loss or damage rate is less than one in two thousand based on over 10,000 items sold in over 12 years of Ebay trading and I consider that pretty exceptional.
The only damage rate acceptable for this seller is ZERO and I think my packets will offer just that.
It would take a vicious postman or postal service to damage these for sure.
Even one of these stiffeners cannot be bent by hand, so what chance 2 inside a box? Oneadayrecords is a MAILER-FREE ZONE.
I discount of course for multiple purchases with a maximum of FIVE records per box one double can sometimes be included subject to total weight .
All postage costs are below and at the top of the listing.
NOTE: First Time Bidders: Please ask me first.
PLEASE NOTE: I now exercise my right to open a dispute after the Ebay rule of FOUR days if no payment is received.
I will then cancel the dispute to end the, again after the mandatory FOUR days and then offer the item to the runner-up or relist.
The non-payer will also be blocked from my Ebay site and they take the Ebay consequences a strike or removal from the system .
Small businesses need prompt payment to trade and these strict rules WILL be applied.

SOME GENERAL GUIDES TO WEAR AND CONDITIONS TO HELP YOU DECIDE My Use of Terminology: Surface Marks Superficial, usually light marks, hairlines or light scuffs that rarely sound.
Scratch a needle mark that goes below the record s surface, some will sound, some will not, my play-grade will inform.
Original a record that has been pressed with the first label design which does NOT necessarily mean a very first pressed record.
First Pressing A record that I believe or know to be a genuine very first pressed record.
I do not claim to always know for sure, and that s why I state the stamper and matrix numbers if at all possible, for those who claim to know what they all mean, the information is there for the collector to decide.
I prefer to use terms like Early Copy rather than First Pressing if I am not totally sure.
Surface Sound Mild, light sound, usually light crackle or similar.
Distortion Break up of the actual sound caused by groove wear or damage from a chipped stylus the most undesirable form of unwanted sound, vintage mono records were the most prone to this happening but not exclusively so.
The symptoms of distortion are high frequency clipping, moderate constant crackle or an echo type sound quality.
Violin, piano and vocals are most prone to groove-wear distortion.
Feathering Fraying or softening of the entry edge of a cover.
Covers with feathered entrance edges are more likely to have had the actual record inserted and removed more than a non-feathered, sharp-edged cover which are always far more attractive.
Set Off, actually a printer s term for dark ink leaving mild residue on pale or white ink when rested upon.
e.g.
when a gatefold cover has black ink closed against white, this can leave some black residue on the pale area this is mostly unavoidable or course.
The Argument for Vinyl Original sound and mix mono mixes are rarely available on CD , high quality sound on clean copies played on a hi-end dedicated analogue system breathtaking sound , beautiful, large format covers, artwork, inserts and even full size posters etc huge investment potential, and the pleasure of owning the real thing .
