  • You Must Own This!

Anyone who doubts the scope of Prince's musical prowess should swiftly be directed to his lesser known works circa 1985-87. Case in point, Madhouse. This jazz-fusion concept is unlike anything Prince was doing at the time and considering his bounty of work during this period, that's saying something. The highlights are tracks "One", "Four", and "Eight". "Four" is noteworthy as a version of it was performed using the main riff and lyrics to "The Ballad of Dorthy Parker" during the Sign o the Times and LoveSexy tours. Really the only negative is the album's brevity (just over half an hour), but the vibe of release is such that you might just put it own repeat several times.

  • Madhouse 8

This CD takes me back. The fusion of Jazz & Funk is still a fresh mix in my mind. Back in the 80's I was loving the innovative combination. Then wondered where Madhouse went. It was just now that I realized there was another album (CD) released. So that is my next purchase. However, the Madhouse 24 CD cover art doesn't seem to be as Hot as 8 & 16.... and yeah, that was another thing I loved about this album. (Sorry to say this when you're rating a Music Album... but this was the first time that Looks did matter)

  • Worth it

Have been wanting for a long time but didn't want to spend the price....worth every penny

  • Mad about Madhaouse

I bought this CD new when it first came out and lost it. Finding it on eBay was great, but wanting this CD again came at a cost - a bit expensive...
